The new deal between Finnish and Russian authorities gives Finnair more overflight rights to Asia, the possible new destinations are Nanjing in China, Sapporo in Japan and Busan in South-Korea. Also a third daily flight to Moscow is possible now. Finnair says new route(s) to Asia for S18 are under ...Jump to post

Yes, and I wonder if T1-T2-T3 can handle it... While not crowded, they are decently busy. And while perfect for your average European A320 flight, they are not really built for handling modern widebodies. If this works (and I have a feeling it will) and traffic picks up, will the terminals be able ...Jump to post
Doubt we'll be seeing any upgrades in economy as SK already is having a hard time with their fares when it comes to competing with DY. It looks great though and definitely happy to see that they will be serving Scandinavian dishes onboard.Jump to post
EI-GAJ, Aer Lingus's latest A333, is due into DUB around now (10pm, 23/5) ... St. Carthage. (Patron saint of Elephants?!) Drums beating louder about Hainan coming to DUB; looking at DUB-EDI-PEK, with 787s. They're certainly in expansion mode - just ordered more 787s! http://www.airliners.net/forum/...Jump to post

There are no doubt enough people willing to save a few shekels to fill up an A321 a few times per week. It's not that much farther than the east coast destinations WOW already serves on A320/A321 from Iceland. But I could see the 13 hour long layover on the eastbound reducing the appeal of this opt...Jump to post

As of now this is how the schedule stands: PTP-FLL 3x weekly EF Oct 31st PTP-JFK 6x weekly EF Oct 29th FDF-JFK 4x weekly EF Oct 29th Seems that they weren't able to attract enough people from BO...Jump to post
Have they got Argentina government approval yet, or is this more spin? Wonder if anyone will give it up? DL seems weakest.
Great report! I really enjoyed it! Were you confronted at any time in Chinsau though or was it quite safe? Moldova has always interested me a bit. Overall though, SAS is reducing MIA service despite adding ARN to the network. This is due to the BOS route being up gauged to SAS' own A330 instead of the PrivatAir BBJ. I wonder who blinks first.. DY or SK on the Scandinavia-South Florida market.. seems to be a lot of capacity even if Miami is po...Jump to post
Dutch Aviation site (luchtvaartnieuws.nl) is reporting it as well. Very sceptical tone though. They say they want to be a Norwegian-style-Transatlantic carrier. Great that Level is proven to be a so far success. Yeah they do and Norwegian has opened their Paris CDG Long haul base with Orlando next to come. When is MCO supposed to open? I don't think this means that it's the beginning of parting ways between JU and EY. JU probably just wants to use the aircraft on a more profitable route. They could for sure use it to increase the connection opportunities for their JFK flight at BEG as they are quite limited on certain days.Jump to post
I'm catching up on a*net reading, and came across this thread. I was in Manhattan (mid-town east) from 11- to 18-April and never saw a single UA ad on a taxi. I only saw one ad on a bus-stop shelter. They really bet on SAS failure. If it does not work they will try something different. They already pulled back from Boston in competition with SAS.
