Pretty impressive for Columbus to have the same amount of demand to Tokyo as it does London. I'm assuming this has a lot to do with Honda's presence in CMH? EWR could serve the current or even more TATL service with an emphasis on O&D. So, UA can move small market feed into IAD vs. EWR to free up EWR for more profitable O&D services with 737 and larger aircraft. For example, surely 3 NB instead of 6 RJs PIT-EWR plus 3 NB EWR-Mid Con or Transcon...

Provo isn't that much worse for folks trying to go to Park City or whatever...an extra 30 mins versus driving from SLC. And it's 30 mins closer to the national parks as well. The rental car supply thing is real though, if there's truly a supply problem.

Or maybe UA just does more p2p overflying of their hubs to FL between key markets? FL is such a different beast compared to elsewhere, maybe they can get away with bending their model a bit in this situation.

From the east end it's an hour and 15 minutes. It can be even worse during rush hour when it gets clogged in traffic at Robinson. Chop off that ridiculous stop and it can save 10-25 minutes.

Just went through TSA and CLEAR lanes are in place, testing is happening. They said it rolls out Monday. The Pre lines were long again, so I'm happy this is finally coming to PIT.

I *am* a bit surprised that IAD hasn't grown more. UA talked a lot about shifting connecting flows there from EWR, but it hasn't really materialized. Not sure what happened to that plan.

Would this expansion have something to do with the new CLE crew base? Would folks be given the option to commute by car to PIT? I'm not familiar with how these things work. I had no idea that Tower City wasn't the Amtrak station. I just assumed it was. Did it used to function that way? Why was it changed? Seems silly not to be using that for Amtrak if it's easy to switch back.

I'd imagine DL increasing TATL from secondary airports will probably keep increasing due to the big reductions at AMS? They need to fly that traffic from somewhere, and if they have less folks routing via their major gateways that will alleviate some pressure.

SLC-PIT should be filling much of the planes with high dollar O&D. Moneyed leisure travelers. It is the best skiing in the world, and the secret is out. Not to mention the national parks. The market boomed during the pandemic and I think DL is insane to continue to leave it on the table.
