https://www.flightradar24.com/WOW5RY/117a0b7b With the inaugural flight to DFW from KEF WOW Air is now launching her 11. US destination meanwhile Interestingly flight WW191 is operated by an Airbus A 330-200 (TF-WOW) and not from one of WOW Airs A 321. So either there are plenty bookings or DFW is ...Jump to post
Xiamen’s 1st MAX 8 has left BFI for its new home
So from now on if Silk Air takes a delivery of Max will it be in Silk Air livery or Singapore Airlines.I guess they already have taken their first Max 8 Probably be SilkAir until further notice, the first aircraft delivered with SQ product will most likely have the SQ livery. Interesting I guess the SIA Group has the numbers for MAX 8 from SilkAir and the A320neo from Vistara. A320s can always go to Scoot since they are a large operator of the type. They could be taking a SilkAir approach for this airline.Jump to post

Why would the FAA be “all over Southwest” after nothing more than a possible faulty sensor? Pressurization/pressure sensing issue? Twice in a week? Same airframe? In the history of commercial aviation, I have never heard of a single airframe experiencing the exact same class of failure twice to the...Jump to post

Was looking through FR24 and I noticed some XY flights being operated by Lion Air aircraft
Anyone have any more info about why these aircraft are operating for XY?
SFO-NRT is only ~10h westbound and ~8h eastbound. DL used a 763 on SFO-NRT. If you look at the payload-range for the 763ER (page 50) (http://www.boeing.com/resources/boeingdotcom/commercial/airports/acaps/767.pdf) you see a range of about 6000nm with full pax and baggage load. SFO-NRT, LAX-NRT, and...Jump to post
SFO-Asia is really pushing the 767 so UA just sent 747/777s there since they had sufficient range and passenger capacity. SFO-NRT is only ~10h westbound and ~8h eastbound. DL used a 763 on SFO-NRT. I really loved the Air Berlin livery on the 737-800, it just fit the aircraft so damn well! I will also miss the LH livery when it's fully phased out. Another livery I miss seeing is Northwest's final livery. Used to see all of their A320s and 757s blasting out of DTW on a daily basis.Jump to post
First wings 777X test airplanes are coming along nicely

I’m pretty sure this upgrade was for the CFM56-7BE. Which is not the engine affected by the cracks.Jump to post
Don't know why but just seeing that tail just flopped over to the side like that makes me laugh for some odd reason. Should be just a new vertical stab assembly for the A321 though.Jump to post
I remember you sharing that opinion a number of times in the AA 777-200ER thread before they cancelled the A350 order and selected the 787. Some airlines will choose the 787-9 and others will choose the A350-900 for transpacific flying. No one plane is perfect for every mission From this thread: ht...Jump to post
Crazy for me to see done to a 35 year old aircraft. Makes me wonder how long they plan to keep these aircraft

Even with the 779 MEX is too far away from HKG for a non-stop flight (14,200 km/7,700 nm). If CX ever starts flights to MEX it will be via a stop in MTY or TIJ. With 789 already doing PVG-MEX unidirectional nonstop, I would think the 779's range would be at least a thousand meter more than that? ME...Jump to post
The new wing will definitely help out in hot and high conditions, but it remains to be seen how much of that stretch negates the gains in the new wing for the 779. We also have to remember that in 2020 the new MEX airport is expected to open with 16,000ft runways. Although aircraft like the 77W are ...Jump to post
Nice report, I cannot believe the state of those 773 cabins. They have been really neglected. The 787-10s can't come soon enough.
edit: WOW completely ignore my stupid comment. This is a report from 2007, I was wondering why there was an EK A332 Haha.
Airbus needs this order, they need united to test the mighty a330, i bet they will pitch it at a low price to get a deal United is not touching the A330. The only aircraft from Airbus that has a chance is the A321 I think that sentiment is a tad strong. The 787 has the inside track but in looking a...Jump to post

This is usually a 787-9 flight but for whatever reason a MAX 8 is operating the route today and departed 6 hours late. AC is really enjoying the extra legs that this aircraft offers it seems. Did a little digging and it seems like C-FSCY went tech at LHR on Friday 5/4 and they are sending the aircra...Jump to post
It was an aircraft that was pitched to airlines but no one bit on it. No demand for such an aircraft. Really? After all the sucess that the A321 LR is having? MAX 8 is hindered by its size. I don't think the A321LR is that successful just yet, I'm still waiting on some major airlines to commit to i...Jump to post
I think a good portion of the 777X will be deferred further since the first aircraft already doesn't EIS until 2020 and aircraft close to delivery will be cancelled. The A350 is in real jeapordy of being outright cancelled/converted to A320neo aircraft. Solely because they have the 787 already. The ...Jump to post

Won't be good for the customers to be crammed into a 787. More narrow seats, narrow aisles, and less space. This horse you and others keep attempting to beat is long dead, the general public probably think the 787 is best aircraft that they have been on. The seat width is so overblown on this websi...Jump to post

Must be some anet coolness factor.
The fact that it's a narrow body doesn't bother me, it's the 737 itself that sounds like torture. I've flown 707's long haul and it was great but I can't compare a 707 to a poxy 737, also times have changed and so has the seat pitch... How is the 737 so much worse than an equally configured 707.
