I can think of three likely future destinations in the USA not already served by Aer Lingus: 1. DUB to DFW on the A330 2. Seasonally: ORD to SNN on the A321LR, CLT to SNN on the A321LR In Chicago or Charlotte, however, would either cannibalize the B6 partnership, given that EI relies on B6 feed at ...Jump to post
LF may not be everything for some of these F9 routes. PVD-RDU/CLT is being flown by an A321 with 230 seats on what I am assuming was a function of aircraft use/base. 75% on an A321 = 92% if they flew it on an A320. I agree, this is probably what killed most of the ISP flights since many of them wer...Jump to post

REALLY??? When is this happening?
Runway28L wrote:Is it me or have quite a few routes out of CLT lost mainline frequencies amd been replaced by those CRJ9s?
RDU’s limited gate space right now might have contributed to GSO landing NK. That’s my understanding- lack of RDU gate space and the AA fortress/lack of gates/cost of gates in CLT had NK split the difference. There’s 9 gates opening up at the end of month/early July. NK could get there gate in CLT ...Jump to post
B6-BOS-CLT to 3 daily..... much needed! Glad to see it! I wonder if this is somehow tied to the opening of the new concourse this summer. WN will be announcing their new schedule release within the next week, so it’ll be interesting if they uptick a few frequencies at CLT as well. I think B6 and WN...Jump to post

My life would be swell if they added BOS and CLT out of PHX so I can finally give up AA for good. I think they would if they had the space to do so. I believe there is no room to budge in their schedule at CLT. I read WN is picking up a 2nd gate when A North opens up at the end of June. If accurate...Jump to post
Surprised there’s so much talk about BOS; I get that it’s an old city, but it seems like too much of a statement for a relatively... un-exotic route? It would have been exotic and historic compared to places like Charlotte, Cleveland, Columbus, Oklahoma City, Omaha and Tulsa. What’s wrong with Char...Jump to post
Any additional growth out of CLT would be the best news to me. There hasn’t been an increase from here in about 6 or 7 years. CLT-BOS should easily be 4 daily considering how large of market it is on both sides. At least have some kind of schedule against AAs 9 daily flights. On the bright side, B6 ...Jump to post
What new U.S. destinations do you think Aer Lingus will announce later this year?
CLE is likely hideous for the 2 Iceland carriers. EI must be smarter than to jump into that. MKE, IND, PIT, DTW, BWI, CMH likely ORF, CVG, BUF maybe I don't think CLT/RDU are within range? Certainly not CLT.[/q...Jump to post
Be that as it may, CLT-DUB is already served by AA. In the same vein that BA hasn't added LHR-CLT with AA on it I don't see why EI would add DUB-CLT.
BA doesn’t need to fly to CLT because of the JV. AA serves CLT-LHR with 2 daily year round A333s It wouldn’t make sense for BA to add a flight...Jump to post
As expected. I’m still looking for all those people blabbing to me CLT would’ve been de-hubbed by now. AA should be picking up 5 or 6 gates on A concourse this summer. That should help them out a lot. I believe DFW will take a back seat behind Charlotte at some point in the future. On peak travel da...Jump to post
I expect BA to add CLT at some point. I was under the impression AA was going to pick up 5 or 6 gates on the A concourse once A north opens I’m May of this year....if all goes as planned. I say that because I was under the impression that CLT built the A/B connector with the thought of AA getting so...Jump to post

As has been discussed here before LCC's have historically struggled at CLT. TZ tried CLT-MDW and failed. FL tried CLT-MDW/MCO and failed on both. B6 tried CLT-FLL and failed. WN tried CLT-MCO and failed. B6 service to CLT has been stagnant over the years. I think they are only at 2x E190 now to BOS...Jump to post

Looks like this frequency reduction spans July 1-August 22. Aircraft shortage? Competition from American Eagle's new PIA-CLT flights?
Great effort from CLT!!Jump to post
Emirates, Southwest, and jetBlue JetBlue, overrated? Nice to see AA add another route out of CLT!Jump to post
I can also see them (eventually) using the 100 to expand RDU / BOS and other non-mega hub airports where DL has a larger than usual presence. It could make routes that would be tough today (say anything into Chicago) more economically viable while serving corporate contract demands. I would definit...Jump to post
How so? It's a popular route. WN and AS always operate that flight with full loads. It's simply not a large market to have 3 full service carriers. The numbers for Q2 2016 were less than 250 PDEW. Even considering some stimulation and connections 400-500 seats is a lot for the market. And DL is the...Jump to post
I think MCI, STL, AUS, DFW, RDU tech cities to tech cities. I say RDU because there must be a need from the West Coast. AA added it from SJC for the last 3 years over the summer, DL has it from LAX, UA has it to SFO. DL is quite large at RDU. They offer service to CDG now, maybe they're trying to g...Jump to post
Isn't LSO a 300? WN just retired those. If it is a 300, I think it would be appropriate to be on display at DAL, WN HQ, or an aviation museum in Texas given how much WN has changed the industry and is very prideful of its beginnings, in Texas. If they made a 700 into the new LSO, then it is probabl...Jump to post
4 flights to Europe from CLT is great for this time of year. Before the merger it use to be only 2 AA flights and 1 LH. CLT-FRA has been upgraded to an A333 and LHR is still going strong with double A333s. No need for BA when AA has 2 daily flights on it. Would like to see DUB or MAD go year round, ...Jump to post
Great to see CLT-HAV loaded in. Glad to see yet another thinner west coast route go daily out of CLT.Jump to post
Your idea is not far fetched by any means. I myself have thought of something along these lines. I don't think this would happen in the near future based on the fact B6 is committing up to 200 flights from BOS and increasing FLL to 140. With that being said I think there hands are pretty full for th...Jump to post
Thanks for the info. Do all A321s have the same tail design then? Looking through photos now, I guess that's the case, though I assumed only planes with Mint had the Prism tail with the green accents. I guess that was just that — my assumption.
My pleasure. Correct, it's an A321 only design....Jump to post
Not directly related, but I was at DEN a few weeks ago on a weekday afternoon, and I saw a B6 A321 headed to JFK. It had the green mosaic pattern on the tail, so I assume this was a Mint plane. Does anyone know if this is a one-off? I didn't see any Mint service for sale anywhere when I did a dummy...Jump to post
