You’ve officially become my favourite poster. I loved the incredibly nerdy post about AA’s cabins, and now this. Love it :-) This is what a.net should be like, and not why Detroit isn’t served from every airport in the world. And thank you to the knowledgable people providing answers. Keep going :-)

Cruises are for leisure. Back in the sixties, cruises were a realistic alternative for travel over long distances. Nowadays, the majority of cruises are sold to people who get seasick from looking at the sea going to completely uninteresting destinations like Grand Turk while playing bingo.

Re: What's your favorite/least favorite airport to connect through?

Depends - FRA intra-Europe is ok, non-Europe-Europe is a nightmare. If you’ve got priority many airports are great, but can be terrible without. Then there’s a difference between actors: the ones at LHR’s T5 are (expletive deleted), whereas the ones at T2 are rather nice. I still prefer Maggie Smith...

Re: Why do most trip reports (websites/youtube) feature only J or F class?

The answer is simple. Economy class is not interesting. You get an uncomfortable seat, a tasteless TV dinner and you get to experience queues and delays. On top of that the seat is the same across all airlines, but the curries are better on Thai & Jet than BA. To sum it up: I’d rather hear about...

I flew PAL frequently in the nineties. It was a great airline once they got off the ground.

The way to succeed is to have higher revenues than costs. I’ve never worked in the airline industry, but I’ve had a fair few years experience in the private sector. Now let PAL management do their job.

Perhaps SAS? Now that's an airline without any sort of strategy whatsoever... I think this is wise. Whereas there is huge demand for no frills, there is also a large demand for premium travel.
