I can't see it, firstly as EI will need them and secondly they are CFM. BA and IB are both CFM, aren't they? VY is PW. The A320-100's were CFM, but them fine machines are long gone now. (RIP!) Re: How easy would a A350-2000/1100 be to develop?

Per Airbus the A351 has a 5% larger wing area than the A359. 4998 sq ft versus 4760. sq ft. Close enough! Thanks for the correction. The larger wing would probably be the basis for any A350 stretch, but I wonder if Airbus would be tempted to do a simple stretch of the A359 (I. E. Same MTOW) when th...

I thought the A359 and A35K had the same wing I believe the A35K has a slightly longer trailing edge to increase the area (I have 4% larger in my head, but can't remember). It's not a huge change, but a change all the same. Per Airbus the A351 has a 5% larger wing area than the A359. 4998 sq ft ver...

Imagine the range on an A359neo with the A35K wing, MTOW etc though, that would make AKL-LHR possible with a realistically high capacity. On the technical and engineering side I imagine it would be pretty simple as far as new developments go, should be similar or less effort than A320ceo to neo or A330ceo to neo. The A350 seems to have had a lot of engineering for future upgrades and weight increases, so even with there technically be...

At a guess: 77Ws - even used - are much more desirable than A346s, so it is simply easier to acquire the A340s. If no one else wants them then owners will be more inclined to get them to Iranian airlines. 777s ear easier to place, so owners go for the easier and more lucrative options.

Even with NPS (massively overrated for the increase in cabin width anyway) a 10 abreast A350 would be a worse passenger experience than a 9 abreast A330. So if an airline wouldn't do the latter it won't do the former. Reply 13 in the concurrent Indigo widebody thread suggests the opposite: "I ...
