Does anyone think an Eastern and Piedmont merger would have worked out? Eastern could have built up a nice hub in CLT and just used ATL for O/D. Piedmont was primarily an east coast airline. What they need to come up with are some rules that would force airlines to only schedule as many flights as can be staffed. All of these flights being cancelled due to no crews are going to come back to bite the airlines in the ass.
