Re: Icahn Takes 9.9% Stake in JetBlue

Who knows what Icahn had in mind when he had a stake in Hertz, but lost money due to the pandemic. He may try to force a merger for jetBlue or bankruptcy. It would be interesting if David Neeleman could do a reverse merger with Breeze, but maybe wishful thinking.

Hopefully in the future we can see an homage to the hot dog roller found at Cumberland Farms or the cheese whiz nacho from 7-Eleven, both exemplars of modern New England dining culture. And put them where? The state police barracks is probably the most flexible. It doesn’t necessarily have to be on airport property. (Frankly with how the MSP is organized these days, the barracks arguably doesn’t even have to exist) Parking is any airports money maker. Where would the economy lot g...

A relatively recent google aerial image shows the shape of the extension unfinished. It doesn't seem massive, but again the multi-level, bulky roof may give that appearance.

Re: Boston Aviation Thread - 2022

I'm sure the Terminal E extension will look very nice on the inside, but the landside exterior doesn't seem to be too aesthetically pleasing, IMO. The roof looks like an oversized red Tupperware lid, and I am not sure how the design will "blend" into the older part of the terminal.

There was planned to be one additional gate in that area, it started off being linked to C (C43) but I’ve also seen it classed as a B gate too, when B6 was planning to move up to 30 gates this needed to be one of them in use to make it all work. Now, not so much. Looks like 4 gates - C40, C41, B42,...

[quote="Revelation"]A far simpler question: what is the relevance of accounting methodology to the decision to only keep one 787 FAL? We have plenty of statements in Leeham and elsewhere saying 787 will never pay back all the deferred costs even before the COVID crisis. So, 787 may have to...

The real whales - the 747s - are still alive as the cargo versions are busy, in part due to the virus. I've never referred to the A380 as a whale - if forced into using a nickname, I'd call it Uncle Fester. B747 is the Queen of the Sky, do you mind? Which brings me back to the Eagle Terminal, there are 4 slots there striped D1 to D4, they were obviously used in the past and must have had fueling access, you can refuel Fed Ex at their farthest slot for the Cargo piece, so I bet the folks at Massport could figure out how to extend that option to...

Arion, really? The 737 MAX has 4,000 orders from 92 customers. 777X has 326 orders. 777 as a whole has 1.526 orders. 747-8/8F has 122 since 2005. 747-all has 1,536 orders. I’m not entirely sure what you are asking but Rolls Royce do not power the 737 family or the A320 family. In terms of Civil Aviation they stick to wide bodies only eg A330/A350/A380/B787. They have stated before they have no intention of supplying narrow bodies as they have to compete with GE and P...
