The flight has actually started but isn't on BA.com yet, it is, however, in the BA timetable and bookable via some 3rd party sites, but at £1300 Rtn for a flight that also stops at CBG, most will probably continue to route throug other hubs, But available on the cheap via the miracle of avios! I can tell you as a resident of the UK that it's big bad Boeing/the USA who has been getting a trashing over here about all of this. I imagine there will be some warplane cancellations but that's about it. It's not like the government can instruct BA not to buy Boeing next time to teach them a lesson.

TS's A330s are 9 abreast though right? Doesn't exactly fit with the newer, more mainline experience that TCX are promoting on their long haul ops. I sort of suspect the TS 330 will be a short haul tourist bomber?

The B777 & A330 are noisy aircraft in the cabin. Of the newest generation it's louder 787 -> A380 -> A350 quieter IMHO.

EI says it is sticking with 330s, which is a fine aircraft no doubt, but with its hub at Dublin growing, it doesn't seem to make sense to stay with an aircraft of the same capacity they've had for the last 20 years. Of course it makes sense. They are already built and can be taken up and put into rework whenever the air force likes. I don't buy the argument that they are bespoke aircraft from the ground up, all other nations manage with modifications of standard aircraft, why can't the USA?

Wearable body cameras for FAs (to be used I the event of a disturbance and left in a locker at all other times) would be a cheap and minimally intrusive solution. But as another poster said, everyone would film on their cell phones anyway.

I suppose it all depends on what altitude the new Addis Ababa airport is at. If it is indeed lower as rumoured up thread, then it would make sense to prepare for the future fleet requirements, rather than order as per the conditions found today.
