I think you are pretty spot on, except the 773's will have low cycles..I think they will squeeze 20-22, maybe even 25 years as those will back fill on some 772 routes as they go out the door later on, all filled in with 779's or more 789's. once all said and done, I'd expect AA to go far around 75-...

Based on the press release, the $49 one way fares are only bookable today and tomorrow. I'm guessing the fares are going to jump up quite a bit on March 6, but this will give WN enough positive press for the market entry.

My guess is that EK already knows which routes really support the A380's capacity and which ones actually benefit from bars and showers. I imagine because AA made a large commitment to the 737-800 at the time. They didn't really expand the MD-80 fleet significantly until they acquired the TWA assets which I believe was after they made their first 737-800 order.

RE ORD-BWI, this is probably just an O&D route only for AA, and for those passengers, they're competing with WN (two of their biggest stations on each end), UA, and NK. Almost all connecting traffic out of BWI can be routed through their DFW and CLT mega hubs.

I dont think you will see AA ordering the 787-10 anytime soon. They seem happy with their current fleet mix. Had they wanted them I think you would have seen an order by now. I'm also interested to see if this new gear will be available on the -8 and -9 models as part of a short field package or a MAX-ER version if the current fuel tanks are not already volume limited.
