God forbid somebody have a sense of humour these days.
My fingers are crossed JAL upguages the NRT route to a B789.Jump to post
How about DFW? The route has been 744/77W exclusive over the past few years, and think a OW hub-hub flight like it could surely fill up enough to warrant a 380. AA might like that as well, they could run 1 less AA bird to LHR, freeing up a widebody for another route. 1 BA A380, 2 x AA 77W's I'm sur...Jump to post
Yes, I was referring to the color of plastic in the cockpit. Definitely a nod to Airbus, which is a good thing. The old brown was rather hideous. http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3202/3046863641_563cd759c8_o.jpg IIRC, the tan / brown tones were chosen cause they hid dirt better than grey and the warme...Jump to post
So the wings for the 1st 779 to fly are under construction, when will they start constructing the fuselage?Jump to post
L/N1544, N606UP was ferried with callsign BOE532 from Portland(KPDX) towards Paine Field (KPAE) after paint at November 8th 2017, see : http://flightaware.com/live/flight/BOE532/history/20171109/0030Z/KPDX/KPAE No recent pics of Qatar Cargo A7-BGA and UPS N606UP are available from Paine Field yet. ...Jump to post
That will never happen. I disagree..... DELTA is a shell of its former self. It appears the NW sign is ALIVE and well in ATL. NW is very much alive at DTW, DL has barely touched the facilities other than to put the company name in the terminal, when you walk into the sky club, it’s screams NW. If y...Jump to post
Someone mentioned in the NFL charters thread the Seahawks will fly to/from DFW 23DEC
for their game against the Dallas Cowboys on a DL 744. Hopefully, that 744 overnights at DFW like most NFL charters
that come into DFW
I think DL should keep their powder dry and focus on the Collin County Airport in McKinney.
With the population explosion up in that part of the metroplex, that airport has the potential
to become another John Wayne SNA size airport.
Does anyone know what is up with Sprit's Airbus A320neos N904NK and N905NK? It looks like N904NK has only been doing flights around the DFW area since the beginning of October 2017 and N905NK has not flown since it did PHL-DFW on March 13, 2017. https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N904NK https://fl...Jump to post

[twoid][/twoid] According to several Boeing employees, the 777X transition has proved rockier than the company has publicly acknowledged: https://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/air-transport/2017-10-26/boeings-777-line-stumbles-traveled-work-mounts Here's hoping Boeing can get the kinks worked out....Jump to post

Heck, I flew a VS flight from LHR to DTW couple years ago and security had a table set up in the gate area
and were checking pax and their carryon bags , not many people, but at least 10 that I noticed
I would assume these would be AF inactive reserve pilots who could be subject to recall ?Jump to post

Think they are standard A359s which have a fair bit more range than a 77W
So, if the leasing company turn up with a crew and claim their property what would happen? I remember watching a TV show about Nick Popovich and his repo company and IIRC , when they came to repo a plane, they would pay whatever fees the local airport or FBO were owed to buy their cooperation in co...Jump to post

Amazing thread, thanks for the effort compiling all that info.
Still a treat to see the daily BA 744 here at DFW.
Hope they keep her on this route as long as possible
A plane to avoid when flying AA. 30' pitch in Y, 172 pax vs 160 in the 737-800, and no IFE. Not much of an upgrade for the people riding in one of these. People just need to realize that seat back IFE is going away. There is zero financial incentive to lug all that extra weight around when people c...Jump to post
Let's see how Boeing reacts when Canada dumps tariffs on all the Boeing airliners Air Canada and WestJet have ordered, as well as the Super Hornets the Canadian Air Force were considering. The Canadians could also ratchet things by requiring visas for American passport holders. Congrats Boeing, you ...Jump to post

Wonder if UA and DL might keep a few 744's active for the college bowl season ? Some of the larger colleges can easily fill 744's with fans or the teams themselves Delta is flying the 744 to TPA*, LAX, SEA, EWR, CLT, DFW, BUF, and FLL in this order. If you live in these cities, keep an eye on Delta...Jump to post
Boeing may win this battle but lose the war. If this tariff sticks, I doubt
Delta will ever buy another Boeing jet for a long time. Short term,
they can kiss any MAX sale to Delta goodbye
Man I was hoping they would go with a new livery. The AF1 paint is one of the most boring 747 paints out there. But I guess it's easier to maintain with all those cheat lines. That livery was designed in part by Jackie Kennedy for the VC-137's so I doubt anyone would dare suggest revising the liver...Jump to post
That no roo on the engine thing REALLY annoys me. I hope they will put them on their current fleet when they repaint like the a380. I bought a Gemini Jets 1:200 QF B789 2-3 months ago and thought they made a mistake on the model when I saw no 'Roos on the engine nacelles. Sadly, they were correct.Jump to post
I'm sure AA could use a few A359ULR jets to open up new city pairs like MIA- JNB DFW / ORD - India , MIA-Tokyo DFW-TLV to name a few :) You do know that AA has already tried ORD - India with the 777-200ER, no real need for the A359ULR for this route. Okay, how about DFW - DEL ......... that would g...Jump to post
