DL/VS carries a majority of its JFK-MAN passengers on DL connections beyond JFK. Not really an ideal set-up considering its NYC pax prefer LGA. The only way legacies can compete with the rise of long haul LCCs is hub to partner hub or market with good sized planes and a healthy mix of premium travelers. DL has invested heavily on Boston, AA doesn't seem to have the same priority Delta must diversify. With fewer hubs in less populated urban areas than American it will end up at a competitive disadvantage without growth.
