I wonder what the odds are of it having to stop for refueling. Going east, none. Going west, I think only if expecting bad weather and possible holds. The flights can take advantage of the wind when flying south-west instead of head on into the jetstreams. And the flight shouldn't require etops. Uh...

Paying $80+ per barrel of fuel until 2019 takes away a lot of extra money you might have for branding. But someone got rich off this branding campaign like someone got rich off CX fuel hedging. Time will tell if the airline survives long enough to repaint the fleet.

Good luck staffing this kind of flight. You might find only the junor pilots jumping at the chance to do 18+ hour routes. And sitting in a hold after 18+ hours or diverting is a fatigue caused accident just waiting to happen.
