Jump to postToday I was on TC-JSR, for TK332 IST-GYD flight. It is 9 years old 321ceo and we had good internet connectivity during flight. However I always prefer TK 321neo fleet. They have an excellent hard product.
Jump to postI'm also no more TK Elite Plus. I could not use any benefit of being EP: all the promised free upgrades or free tickets using reasonable levels of collected miles. Only benefit is having some extra luggage which I hardly used. As I travel mostly on Business, it does not worth to loose your freedom t...
Jump to postCongratulations to AJet.
Hopefully IATA code VF among the passengers eyes translate in to Very Fine, rather than WtF.
It is crazy that within 4 years only, we are reaching limits of a brand new mega airport. I think rest of the project (ie all remaining runways and the twin terminal) needs a go ASAP. Take the brave steps without loosing time.
Jump to postIf I'm not mistaken, it was mentioned during the ceremony that SAW 2nd runway would be only used for take offs. So I conclude that ILS for 2nd runway still has some problems.
Jump to postAs far as I see, no strategic planning about growing in India and China. This is a serious mistake.

Jump to postWow, impressively quick. I think these kind of operational muscles and efficiency matters big big time in commercial aviation. Jump to postHi everyone. I’ll be flying to India soon with a ticket issued by TK, but the connecting flight from IST to India will be operated by IndiGo. Jump to postLong awaited. Congratulations to TK and Turkish Aviation.
Jump to postHowever both UK and France have good railway networks and distances are relatively short.
Jump to postSeems like TK has downgraded the amount of earned miles through your M&S credit card with each purchase. I just bought a domestic ticket for around 960TL, and I only got 321 miles. First it was 1TL = 1 mile. Then they changed it 1 mile for every 2TL, and now it’s 1 mile for every 3TL. They keep...
Jump to postBusiness Lounge and M&S Lounge being twin lounges is also wrong. Business Lounge has to be more superior. Perhaps TK can allow M&S ELPL to use Business Lounge in that case (not Star Alliance Gold) to make a difference.
Jump to postLH admitted TK into *A hoping that they could manipulate TK and use it as a regional airline that constantly feeds them revenue/transit passengers and LH uses TK to operate in the niche markets in third world where they are reluctant to operate their own metal. However, TK grew into a bigger airlin...
Jump to postI trust that TK can start its own JV and alliance. It is time to say goodby to Star Alliance. Even if not now, this can happen somewhere in 2020s.
Jump to postWhat I didn't get is why this rush of 10ys to double the company? Why not a healthy growth step by step? This planned growth have also big risks and needs very good planning, also is IST ready for that? I believe this is a politically motivated rushed announcement due to upcoming elections. Perhaps...

Jump to postMiles&Smiles has already become a joke. No benefits at all, only burdens. As an EP, probably I'll no more try to keep my loyalty in M&S. I decided to burn my 100K miles as of 2022 end. I'll no more push for collecting miles, since you can not use them anyway.

Jump to postI've shared my views about ESB multiple times here in the past, but let me make a short summary: - Position of Ankara Airport (ESB) is extremely wrong. Jump to postCertainly TK business class is expensive lately. I’m on QR1018 right now on DOH-DXB leg of my trip. I’ve got a better price for QR First class than TK business class for ESB-DXB. Is QR First better than TK business? My answer is “it is not”. At least for the segments I’m flying today.
Jump to postGood to see all these direct services increase to ESB. This is surely not enough but a good start.
By the way, next week I’ll be flying ESB-DOH-DXB-ESB on QR and FZ. On the way back, I’ll try FZ Business class for the first time and provide a short trip report.
TK announced very good results for the first half of the year:
7.59B$ revenue
1.45B$ gross profit
737M$ net profit
Tomorrow it will be fun at BIST.
Some Speculators believe that year end results may even be better than double of these figures.
TUSAS CEO (ex TK CEO) Mr. Kotil gave an interview during Farnborough Airshow. MMU (TFX) was also discussed during this interview: - Total 14 prototypes will be manufactured by 2028 - 12 of them will have F110 - 2 of them will have local indigenous engine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EenGD6X1nRM (...
Jump to postIt depends on how much they want to be dependent on US export restrictions. I suspect that they will still try to get an engine free of US restrictions at some point.
