As I understand it, flight attendants only get paid for the time the aircraft doors are closed to when they open. Is there an advantage to this for the workers? I guess the maxim of it’s not personal, it’s just business comes in to play. Many well loved airlines have folded into other airlines or shut down due to competition, and when we’ve gotten to the level of concentration the US industry is at, I don’t see things changing much.

From that list I think EUG, RDM, and MKE would be the easiest to find success at. Delta is growing it’s reputation in the PNW, and LA, and historically, NW/DL have strong operations in MKE. I still remember working 747 flights between MSP and MKE.

This is one of those damned if you and damned if you don’t situation. When he comes I expect to hear gripes about him taking time away from the recovery effort, and if he didn’t visit we’d hear gripes that he was uncaring. Why anybody wants that job is beyond me. I’m surprised many of you think SEA has a strong chance when FJ serves YVR already. I understand that they’re separate markets, but if I wanted to fly to Fiji (and honestly, who wouldn’t at some point?) I’d have no problem connecting up in YVR.

If I have to bet, I would say miscomunication and misunderstanding of the procedure/communications between pilots and cabin crew, only the slides in the economy section are deployed, economy section, so most junior cabin crew, we will see the investigation. Luckily nobody is severe injured or dead....

Re A321 ovens, I believe that there are space for 15 casserole dishes with 20 passenger seats. Prior to pre-order you may have 10 of x hot casserole, 5 of y hot casserole, and 5 cold dishes, be it salad or charcuterie. Now with pre-order, if you have 20 people ordering hot…things get interesting.

If DL were to start something at BLI I imagine that it would be to SLC, and with the issues with the regionals and SLC construction, I think it’ll be a while before that would ever pan out. I’d like to be proven wrong, however.

If Jetblue wants to grow aggressively, it needs more focus cities in the United States. With the merger, Jetblue would get something ~175 Spirit planes, plus another ~120 on order. And the Jetblue model simply will not work in many Spirit markets. So then Jetblue will be left with extra Spirit plan...
