Spare a thought for those in Y on the BA8 HND-LHR on 10th November - Flightradar24 shows a flight time of 15:58.

The flight was Westbound which is unusual after the Russian airspace closure. BA6 on the 10th strangely flew Eastbound.

It looks like a flying doorstop. The world doesn't have enough hydrogen for Airbus. So it'll be interesting to see where they plan to get their's from. I would imagine that the increase in range is due to lower operating weights. A commercial 747-8 would have hundreds of passengers as well as cargo, while a 747-8BBJ would usually operate with much lighter payloads. Lighter payload = greater range.

As others have pointed out the A340s are the least of SAA's worries, they have similar economics to the 777Es which are still widely used throughout the world.

SAA needs to get their house in order before spending billions of dollars (of taxpayer money) on new aircraft.

You would hope that SAS warns passengers that are flying from these destinations that lounge access will not be available.

Although SAS+ is not a true J product, lounge access is probably the greatest selling point of the product.

As someone who's flown a lot over the past few years, I can say that hands down the worst flying experience you can have is on an 8 across 767.

It makes Air Asia X, Ryanair and the like luxurious in comparison.

I'm really surprised that the software these airlines/fare aggregators/travel agencies use allow these error fares to be generated and sold. Surely they should have software in place that detect fares that are far too low. Even a simple distance, booking class and price calculation could raise flags...

An important point to make is that it is very difficult to build a hub without a decent amount of O&D traffic, I can't think of any.

Building a decent network without O&D and with limited connections would be very unprofitable. Connecting traffic is also lower yielding.
