I believe the new 737 interiors have smaller ducting to the PSU gaspers, to accommodate the larger overhead bins. The lack of airflow makes me feel claustrophobic.

On my crew (not delta) I make it a point that we separate priority bags into their own cart when they are offloaded and we make every attempt to deliver them first to baggage claim. Sometimes it is logistically challenging to get it right every time but my crew does try, at least.

Possible he climbed up into a windmilling engine. In a steady wind at the right angle those have quite a bit of energy, one blade catching a loose piece of clothing or a limb could deliver lethal injuries while not actually ingesting the subject.
