YYZ has service to all 6 continents if you consider direct flights, which is the same that must be considered for ORD. AC33/34 is YYZ-SYD (Via YVR). Why must the same be considered for ORD? And IB is at it again.. 3x A340-600 flying MAD-ORD right now. Flight IB6169/EC-JCY, IB6259/EC-INO, IB6275/EC-JLE. Also there is an extra LH MUC-ORD frequency today LH436 A330-300/D-AIKC. Does anybody know why on May 24th we had 5 flights from MAD-ORD? 4x Iberia and 1 Vamos Air 744. 2 of the IB flights a 346 continued on to JFK and another 333 went to BOS after the ORD stop. The other 3 a 346 333 and 332 flew ORD-MAD. However the Vamos 744 still shows as MAD-ORD as it's last flight. ...Jump to post

ORD was once interesting. You grow or you rot. They rotted. Cest la vie. I was excited about the expansion when it was first announced wit a completion estimate (IIRC) of 2015. Now? Do we even know the completion date? Honestly, we'll see a new LHR runway first. Lightsaber How did ORD rot? They hav...Jump to post

No, BA will still operate two, one with the 744 and another with the A380. AA will operate 4 daily 788's and UA will offer 3 daily 763's. All in all, there will be 8 daily flights from Chicago to London, 7 to LHR and one to LGW. That's quite a lot if you ask me. I think your math is a little off. B...Jump to post
Wonder how AA/UA/BA will react. UA reacted to their DEN annoucement by starting DEN-LHR (that started yesterday 3/24 btw). There doesn't seem to be any reaction for the Chicago route, although BA is bringing in the A380 this summer - but I think that replaces 2 flights? No, BA will still operate tw...Jump to post

All good stuff. Welcome Norwegian. Isn't the BA only temporary until the A380 arrives, I believe next month? Also, isn't it a little earlier than years past for AA to resume those CDG and FCO routes? Weren't those were usually April start dates before....? Summer comes early I guess.... Yes BA A380...Jump to post
In other news this weekend we saw:
Norwegian has started LGW-ORD service with a 344 seat 787-9.
BA resumes 2x daily 744 LHR-ORD
IB resumes A340-600 MAD-ORD
AA resumes ORD-CDG, ORD-FCO both with 788
LX resumes 77W A333 mix service ZRH-ORD
There was also a one off AA A332 PHL-ORD-PHL
Looks like LH has started A350 service today. Replacing the daily A340-600 with the A350-900 on MUC-ORD. Is this the first A350 service to ORD? Taking this flight in September and looking forward to it? Did Finnair bring in the 350 last year, or am I mistaken? Finnair has not sent the A350 into ORD...Jump to post

I did not realize it, but it looks like LGA-ORD-LGA is already pretty much a shuttle operation with virtually all 738's and hourly service, save for 1 or 2 two hour gaps. So this is more of a service enhancement than a schedule enhancement. Correct, also DL flies this route as a shuttle service wit...Jump to post
Hear that Lufthansa will start sending the A350 to ORD from Munich in March. I believe this would be the first scheduled A350 service to ORD, and would be replacing an A346. I just booked it for September, very excited! Can't believe I will be flying on the A350 before the 787 given my 787 obsessio...Jump to post
Man I dont know what kind of research you did but it's way off! In your original report you did not even include ORD at all! It has daily 747 service with BA LH and KLM. LH goes double daily 748 in the summer and BA usually does as well except this May they will introduce A380 service on one of the ...Jump to post
Maybe with more 789/350 deliveries, we'll see the return of ORD-CDG/DUB/MAN/HEL on a year round basis. This might simply be the year that they're caught between not having enough 757/763/787 capacity to go around, and ORD was the sacrificial lamb. I don’t think it’s a problem of available aircraft....Jump to post
AA has a huge domestic presence in ORD. It's true that in the winter its intl' flights are down to LHR,PEK,PVG,NRT,MBJ,PUJ,CUN,SJU,SJD,PVR. In the Summer however they do add CDG,DUB,MAN,BCN,VCE,FCO. All things considered that is not bad at all, especially how the intl' market at ORD heats up in the ...Jump to post
I always enjoy these discussions each year. If we factor in the "Amazon" affect and think how that has added/changed the industry from what it was 5 or 10 years ago it is quite amazing. the gap between the furthest west two T1 concourses is huge - larger than the existing gap between B an C in T1 The larger gap is necessary. I'd like to get a serious discussion going about the future of ORD. O'Hare is lagging behind other major airports in services How is ORD lagging behind other major airports in services? Where will the 777s currently in Chicago be re-deployed to? ORD will still have a 777 crew base I assume, so those planes have to go somewhere and I'm curious where.
