A more sinister version of what Cpd said is that there will be idiots who will steal, attempt to steal, or failing the attempt bend, break, or befoul literally any and every component they think they can get away with. Fully agree with that. I remember my father made a tour through an old submarine...Jump to post

This is an actual incident. Moderators - Why is this thread in "Polls and Preferences" rather than being in "Civil Aviation"? For questions like this please either use the reporting function or write a mail to modertors«airlines.net. Last option is to raise that question in site...Jump to post
Thanks, very nice and interesting impressions.Jump to post
I feel like the NMA would be a perfect fit on these routes. That would depend on the final size. It could be to small to be a proper replacement. I think 78J is more likely. Then there was the flightglobal articel that UA was still in talks with A on the A330neo and the bird made a stop at ORD. Any...Jump to post
The only way you'll see a "LH" flight to BDL is if it's this: https://www.privatair.com/aircraft/boeing-737-700-lufthansa-20c-66y Believe it or not that was how MUC-BOS got started :) LH have cancelled the contract and the Pune route is cancelled as far as I know so this is not going to b...Jump to post
I checked the moderator logs and the initial thread was indeed deleted, but there was a reason, it contained flamebait. Hence it was deleted. So there was no interest at all "to bury the news".Jump to post
Government is looking for an Italian shareholder consortium answer for Alitalia. They appear to be increasingly cold towards outside participation. http://atwonline.com/aeropolitics/italy-seeks-state-controlled-shareholder-consortium-alitalia Sounds like they are trying to repeat the last "res...Jump to post
The debate misses the point, there is no suitable airport. TXL is not build for long haul, much less for a hub operations. Waiting areas, security controls, baggage transportation - everything is running at way over design capacity. I don't think it does. Part of the debate revolves around the idea...Jump to post
Hello Mods, Can we think of a system that keeps this thread only for order, LOI and MOU announcements ? Time to time, there is some discussion which does not belong to this order announcement thread. I will really appreciate that because I am sure many others like me would love to see and follow on...Jump to post
As long as there will be no confirmation of this I consider this as an unverified rumour and I have not mentioned the post above. Thread will be locked.Jump to post
As I said, this topic has been widely discussed and to be honest I do not see any benefit in discussing the intentions of an old article.
But to answer your question: The author was obviously pro-Boeing. However we lerned about DL's 797 intentions only later after the order.
This topic has been widely discussed in several threads.
In the meantime DL has said that they are interested in becoming 797 launch customer.
I think they will simply order the aircraft which fits best to their current needs and has the right price tag on it.
Topic has been wideley discussed and thread will be locked.Jump to post
Now that Hifly's first A380 has entered service this thread will be locked.
For Hifly A380 operations please see:
Some posts have been moved into this thread.
I have renamed an existing thread into Hifly A380 operations thread and will successively merge all other threads and post into this one. This will cause some inconvenience in the beginning and I am sorry for this, but I think it does make sense to have single thread about this topic.Jump to post
This topic has again been widely discussed and will be locked now. In case there will be any remarkable news about this topic, feel free to open a new thread.Jump to post
Well, you can always get your 737NG with SFP kit.

I would expect that solved the problem.
Hopefully LH will be able to oversee their complicated pilot situation. At least for the customer it stays simple, seeing only LH and EW, so from a marketing perspective there seems to be no problem. We have classic LH mainline. Then the A 340s operated by Cityline under LH brand. EW operated by AB...Jump to post
Like what other posters said, I think it's definitely not a sure thing yet. Delta is a buyer that is well-known to be price-sensitve. If Boeing offers a killer-price which Airbus is not willing to match, it will be a no brainer for DL. But with all the recent top-up orders for A321CEOs, the momentu...Jump to post

Please continue to discuss LH offer here:
I think it would be way too early to lock the thread, so for the time being it will remain open.
Here it is another, updated, article:

As there is nothing more to say about the launch, thread will be locked.

Well the current focus of MAB is North Asia (China, Korea and Japan) and that market is perfect for the A330-900. However CEO Bellew did note at the 787-9 MoU signing that MH was considering restarting terminated services to AMS, CDG and LAX as well as new services to SFO and JFK. AMS and CDG seem ...Jump to post
Let us not also forget that the six A350-900s incoming are leased frames designed specifically to replace the A380-800 services to LHR. I expect the engines are under RR TotalCare maintenance contracts and would not be surprised if the airframes are covered by non-MAB maintenance contracts, as well...Jump to post
flee wrote:With regards to the B787-9 MoU, I have no idea where it will fit in but I suspect it will have some impact on the order for their A330-300 replacements.
Nobody can deny that the development is bad for the customer, however any party was free to overbid LH for the AB ops. Short term yes, medium to long term other carriers have the possibility to open up new domestic routes. I know airports like DUS are having issues with free slots, but in this very...Jump to post
I agree. It offers unrivalled comfort in economy and no noticeable difference in Business to the 787. It won't do routes of the length the 787-9 can do but then the A350 can do that and MH already have A350 on order with delivery imminent. I can see the NEO getting a solid footing in the Malaysia-N...Jump to post
I have not seen any official seatmap of the 787-10 for SQ besides mentioning the new regional C class. Was it confirmed that they will be 9 abreast in Y? I know this is just cabin talk but when I flew SIN-AMS on A359 I was asking the flight manager about the A359 and his opinion about it. He said gr...Jump to post
The linked story in the post above by ap305 makes clear, why MH leased the six A330 from Air Berlin - to buy time. The last sentence is interesting. Bellew also said the proposed longer-range version of the A330neo could be “an interesting aircraft”. Well an MOU is just an MOU and no firm order. Le...Jump to post
Looks like we're back to square one with this new bridge loan. The government will likely acknowledge no company wanted to take AZ as a whole and launch a new sale offer to delay any decision until after the elections in spring. I feel like a cynic, but that "loan" shows that AZ won't be ...Jump to post
Did they order with APU or just Prop-Brake? I hope they ordered APU, after learning how the prop brake works I am no fan of it Is empire not a major operator? Genuine question. Rome, Berlin and Amsterdam might get (re) connected. SYD, MIA.. BER? Before they ever operate BER they are joining NH at DUS. This route had been operated in the past.
