There have been a few political threads on here recently. See the thread about TLV being closed for a very simplistic pro-Israeli stance which goes frequently unchallenged, for example.

However, Antonovs has mostly been the choice for those who needs a cheep and rugged airframe. And they've mostly been cheep since they've been available in droves second hand after the major Russian carriers stopped using them. interesting Emirates have no plans to have a lounge in Edinburgh despite room in the new extension and offering 773 with first class. Still not clear why reduction so early in a routes launch Because not enough seats sold, despite certain EDI fans claiming the GLA flights were being propped up by Edinburgh based travellers. It's entirely possible EDI is not the Scottish commercial aviation 'centre of the universe' it's management...

Newark has to be a shout. I doubt many non-Americans would know of it without the airport.
Smaller scale but places Ryanair use like Hahn, Weeze, Prestwick and Charleroi as well.

Glasgow is the biggest city in Scotland but Edinburgh is the capital and has the busier airport. PIK calls itself Glasgow Prestwick but even combined EDI is still comfortably ahead.

I've only had this on westbound TATL flights with UA. My theory was the crew want to do a quick service then encourage sleep so they get left alone.
