Azul is suspending 1 daily flight from Brazil (REC/BEL/VCP) to Florida (FLL/MCO) from September to November.
It seems Brazillans will be travelling less abroad during low sason as USDxBRL currency exchange is getting expensive for Brazilians one more time.
I guess Porto, Portugal (OPO), must be on TOP 3: +10,7 million passengers in 2017. Quite a few busy airports in Brazil too: Porto Alegre, Brazil (POA): +8 million passengers Curitiba, Brazil (CWB): +7,2 million passengers Fortaleza, Brazil (FOR): +5,7 million passengers Florianópolis, Brazil (FLN): ...Jump to post
GRU-DUB could work with IAG JV, but it's low yielding and has little demand outside Brazil, not contribuiting so much for feeding their hub. GRU-GVA could be another possibility for the next 5 years. No non-stop competition, Decent demand from Brazil, Argentina and Chile, no dominant carrier for swi...Jump to post
I don't know any of the ins and outs on this route, but wouldn't it make more sense to stop in BCN before continuing to MAD? Geographically it would. Maybe MAD market has more non-stop competition to Africa and ET believes it should have a better service there than to BCN, which has fewer options t...Jump to post
Doesn't really surprise me. South America seems to be getting closer and closer to Europe-level service. AV is the last one to go now... wonder how long they'll hold on to true J on short domestic routes like BOG-MDE, LIM-CUZ, and GYE-UIO. O6 no longer has C (did they ever?) on domestic aircraft. Hey folks, speaking of Delta, does anyone know why they recently downgaged their daily JFK-GRU service from the A333 to the good old 763? It's a little odd since were starting the high season in the US and the middle year Brazilian scholar breaks are just around the corner... Their other frequencie...Jump to post

Don't AR already flies nonstop EZE-AKL nowadays?
Interjet needs to figure outs its business model. Flying single class yet low density A320s with mere 150 seats while earning LCC income is not a long term solution. Imo they either must become a proper LCC or chose to become more a full service carrier offering multiple classes and try to earn the...Jump to post

I don’t know how large this ac actually is, but does Avianca Brasil operate GIG/NYC non-stop at all ever? If not, does anyone think that would even happen? If so would they do JFK or EWR for UA connections? Their agenda is to grow at GRU which is severely slot constraint. Any intenational growth fr...Jump to post

Could a winter seasonal (2 weekly) YVR-GIG work on Rouge? I bet their 763 can not do it though. I'd hope for a return of YYZ-GIG first, even if it's winter seasonal on a Canadian LCC.
YVR-GRU would be a long flight with no business demand, only leisure from Brazil POS.
TAAG received their first 777 with a new brand. Later they went back to the classic livery: http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/3/4/0/1102043.jpg?v=v40 http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/1/4/9/1123941.jpg?v=v40 http://imgproc.airliners.net/photos/airliners/0/2/7/2608720.jpg?v=v40Jump to post
Hopefully AM will start MEX-FCO and resume MEX-BCN in the next few years. Their 788 is the perfect plane (capacity and cost-wise) to make it workJump to post
Thanks for reply, is the Y+ish 3 abreast or 2 ? Thanks again. "Seats remain in a 3-3 configuration, but they block the middle seat; seats also have extra legroom and recline. Tokyo was listed on the Madrid page on therouteshop.com as having a demand of over 100,000 (think it was close to 200,000) indirect passengers based on MIDT data for 2016. It's not on there anymore, but it certainly used to be. If we say, for example, that MAD-NRT had a demand of 150,000 then the m...Jump to post

ET is usually the chepest option to Asia and TLV from GRU but are very expensive to Africa. I guess they get an interesting mix of yield on their flights.Jump to post
I'd agree with that assessment, even if I am not in Chile. This business of flying "one way tourists" out of Haiti and Venezuela has not helped them for sure. Add to that the failed merger with Star Peru, their aspirations of flying to MIA yet they do not have the equipment for it, now th...Jump to post
Does ET, QR, TK actually have traffic rights between GRU and EZE? FYI the IATA code for Buenos Aires is EZE not BUE. Yes they do and are ususaly the cheapest options with great deals for C class, though the schedules from EZE to Brasil are terrible. BUE is for the city code of Buenos Aires and cove...Jump to post
You can buy 2 separate tickets, but the airline cannot sell you a ticket from one country to another country through a US hub. [quote="rbavfan" As for offering connections from South American countries to Asia. They cannot. Non of the South American countries would allow them to sell a ticket such as GIG-HNL-HND where the passenger is flying just to HND from GIG. Will they be transfered to JJ and replaced by 788?
Does anyone have a clue on how is the LF for AKL-EZE? Next year Argentina Authority will move half of the international flights from AEP to EZE (and from 2018 all international flights will move to EZE). Hope this movement brings more connecting opportunities for NZ to cities such as SAO, RIO and SCL.Jump to post

We use to swap 744 to A343 out of JNB on a seasonal basis every year. It is a seasonal market, they probably can make more money with the A380 on different routes. Thats a different story, LH did the same. As I said eralier the question is why you change a running system in its prime, the high seas...Jump to post
BA operates the 77W and 788 to GRU and GIG, respectively. To claim that their aircraft are old is being pedantic, at best. Especially when JJ operates the same 77W on the route. Wrong you are! I do not claim. I actually FLY ON THEM. The GRU route is a B772 Route now and some of those ARE really old...Jump to post
Sorry but you are not entirely accurate. BA's product to GRU is poor. I use them about three times a year (plus at least once to GIG). Their aircrafts are old and the only thing premium is the price.
