Basically, here at my operator, a US Part 121 Carrier, the AMT and the folks at Maintenance Control carry the same licenses and certifications. Experience is probably the differentiating factor. I flew the river visual in a 737 sim and it was a challenging, but very fun, approach. I never tried it before and had to do a go-around on the first attempt. I was surprised to see how close it was to DC and the Pentagon and how youre even below (or close to) the top of the Washington Monument.

I think A315 and A316 have a nice ring to it, with A317 for a possible CS500. A2xx just sounds weird compared to A3xx.

Dont forget they also fill the plane up to max capacity and block off half of the exits on the evacuation tests. Its rare that a plane crashes, its even more rare to have half the exits inop in a crash.
