I think the problem is that when the weather gets bad as is happening now the parallel runways cannot be used for simultaneous landings because they are too close together. There's nothing listed on avherald.com, but I'm not sure what their criteria is for reporting incidents to/with aircraft. Beltloader came into contact with the fuselage, huge scratch below the bulkhead compartment Not a scratch, skin penetration. Stringers being replaced........photos are nasty.......

Personally I believe this will quickly turn out to be a non story. Unless there is serious demand that we haven't heard about, I don't see Boeing wasting it's time and resources to retool the production lines for a dated aircraft. No retooling is needed as the production line is still in operation....

What this comes down to is UA (or someone) has a bunch of old 76s that need replacing sooner rather that later. Boeing is trying to work a deal to provide new cheap, off the shelf, as is, 76s as a stopgap until the 797s are available. The deal would surely be structured on 76s now, then trading them...
