LAX Hardly. Yes LAX is far more OD when compared to flow, but there are massive connecting volumes that come from TPAC points like SYD, AKL, MNL, etc. and go onward throughout North America. LAX is the largest OD airport in North America, but it is very much not 'without' transfer passengers, and i...Jump to post
I would go with the Fairmont option at YVR as in reality you and the wife will only have 4 hours to sight see as it will take 20 minutes for your plane to get to the gate and boarding starts 40 minutes before departure. Take a dedicated trip to Vancouver sometime and take a few days to enjoy that gr...Jump to post
Thanks for posting this every Sunday. Changing the topic a bit I could not help but notice that DFW- ASE is going to 4 per day in January, 2019.Jump to post

I am just curious if the Austin BA flight has taken business away from the DFW AA/BA flights to LHR as I imagine there were more than a few travelers flying/driving from Austin to DFW to connect to AA/BA's flights before the Austin service began. Have there been any studies done on how BA's Austin s...Jump to post
Of the Iranian government is so peaceful wishes for good relations with other countries they should pull their forces out of Iraq, Syria and Yemen and withdraw their support for Hezbollah. Ending their chants "of death to Israel and the United States" would help too.Jump to post
I flew out of Punta Cana yesterday and noticed that all of the aircraft arriving and departing used runway 08/26 even though runway 09/ 27 was closer to the terminals than 08/26. The Airport was not very busy when I was there but during busier times is 09/27 ever used?
Thanks for your responses.
Due to the population and business growth in Fort Worth and the surrounding area I think it wil bel just a matter of time before we see commercial air service at FTW or AFW, by WN and/or someone else.Jump to post
Wouldn't ramming the vertical stabilizer have brought the 757 down just like what happened to AA 587? It seems like a maneuver like this would give the F16 pilot a good chance of surviving. Terrible duty for the fighter pilot but the passengers and crew were doomed no matter what happened.Jump to post
Another issue with closing down Love Field would be the very likely possibility that Southwest would move their headquarters to PHX, DEN or LAS.Jump to post
I was listening to both the Shannon, Ireland and Miami en route centers today and I noticed the pilots and controllers did not use the word "heavy" for A330s, 777s...etc. Is the designation "heavy" used by pilots and controllers only during approach, departure, communicating with...Jump to post
I was looking at flights in and out of Punta Cana and I noticed that LAN Chile has a flight between MIA and PUJ that continues on to Santiago, Chile. Is local traffic between MIA and PUJ carried on this flight or is the stopover designed to pick up more passengers? The flight is on a 788 so obviousl...Jump to post
Thanks for posting your experiences. What does "Air Colbert" mean? I was at the AA lounge at SFO last Friday and this aircraft was at the gate right outside where I was sitting.Jump to post

Today, I flew FLL to SFO and the customer service people announced that they had one first class seat for sale at $199. I was tempted to buy it but decided not to as I had a good seat in economy. Was the $199 price a good deal? That depends on how much you paid for your Y seat (remember that is a $...Jump to post

Wow didn’t realize that. I wonder what affect, if any, the recent crime wave in Cancun will have on bookings this Summer. Obviously the college aged kids will still go, but I know of many families, including mine who used to frequent Cancun, are going elsewhwere in the Caribbean. Educated travelers...Jump to post

I travel fairly often by air within the United States and it seems like on every flight I take there is at least one uniformed pilot on every flight in the passenger cabin that is deadheading somewhere. In addition I imagine there are often pilots who are also traveling out of uniform. When pilots a...Jump to post

I don't see why infrequent flights from larger airports to HDN, MTJ, JAC, etc. wouldn't work out, given the abysmal fares that the legacies are charging on these types of routes. The people going to HDN, MTJ, and JAC to stay at ski resorts are either premium travellers who expect and will pay for f...Jump to post
FLL is well covered by DY plus BA runs FLL - LGW and who knows B6 might be a player if they ever start serving England from FLL..
It would be great to see service to England and Europe from PBI but not sure if it will ever happen with FLL/MIA in the area and MCO not terribly far away.
An interesting flight that no one has mentioned is DL's flight MIA - MCO and reverse that connects up with their MCO/GRU service. This flight has been operating for at least a couple of years so it must be successful even though DL's MCO-GRU flights overfly MIA both ways.Jump to post
CRP has been HOU only for about as long as I've been paying attention going back to about 2000 or so. HRL had flights to DAL for a few years and that's probably what you're thinking of. In my opinion CRP is one of those stations that should be happy to be in the WN network at all. If I remember cor...Jump to post
As crew myself, you most certainly won’t see me cleaning the toilet if it got in that state midflight. Various health and safety issues involved with all of that too. Exactly!! I shudder to think what will become of AUS if HQ2 heads there. I find their terminal area already struggling to keep up with regular demand as it's pretty often packed to the gills. I know they are midway through an expansion that will help alleviate this, but I'm wondering if it'll be enough. Woul...Jump to post

Back in the early 2000s I used to travel on business via Southwest between DAL and Corpus Christi with a stopover or change of planes in HOU. At that time there were four flights a day each way between HOU and CRP and in Flightaware I just noticed that WN is still running the same number of daily fl...Jump to post
What is interesting too is that international cargo carriers are included in the sheet too. For example in the case of DFW, Air China, Singapore Airlines and Asiana are listed even though they serve DFW with cargo flights only.Jump to post

I was just in the AA reservation system and I noticed that when there is a A321 on a route the word "sharklets" appears in () next to the description of the aircraft, A321. Is there a reason why AA puts the word "sharklets" next to A321? Or is this just a quirk in their reservati...Jump to post
