I still don’t really get the shift towards a much more diverse fleet. From a relatively simple 777/A380 and subfleets within, to 787s, A359s etc. For the size of fleet and complexity of route structure it adds a whole level of presumably expense and organisation. im kind of bored of UX/Air Europa. I don’t think they add much that can’t easily be replaced merger or not and will soon be forgotten. Bring back the old stripe Air Europe offshoot on charter runs!

most will just be booking these via KL and not as VS codeshares. I doubt they’ll be giving gains up just to support VS. Its like BMI all over again and we know what Star UK connections did to them

MAN maybe on a 787. Not sure UA has the right aircraft for GLA unless a 757 becomes free again from another route. You do wonder if 7K per year pax on EWR route now just fill an EDI rotation? Don’t see LGW at all.

Yes running half empty 767’s consistently during the summer Play months after launch. Prices were very much cheaper during that period and swamped the market. FI have never used the 767 so consistently over months (having only been adhoc previously). Make of that what you will..

It was noisy and cramped but did many trips to SYY and Wick. Emb far quicker and I suspect ATR far duller, but deffo time for Saabs to go. I’ll miss the single seats if ATRs.

any updates on if EK will return to double daily service at GLA? Seems A380 over 90% full each day. Providing a great service with dedicated lounge etc and First Class provision.
