Re: Gulf Air to cancel C-Series order

I wonder if this cancellation as well as some others could be JetBlue's inroad to the C-Series. My guess is B6 would like to order the aircraft (a mix between 100 & 300) but I wonder if the timeframe is hampering a potential order? I think B6 wants out of it's current E190 aircraft ASAP, would ...

Is it fair to assume that the "phase I" improvements will be for the N5/6xxJx planes and the "phase II' for the newer N7/8xxJx equipment ? Perhaps someone who has more knowledge can better comment, but I'm not sure what the strategy is. The first retrofit, 646, is a November 2006 bui...

The refurbished 320s have 162 seats, not 165.

What's up with this phase 1 and 2 thing? My best understanding of this is that they've started this year, with phase 1, then next year, they have another new seat (new design, android screen, new plugs) that they'll put on the rest of the A320s? In other words, when all is said and done, there will...

There are no plans for B6 to pick up anything larger than the 321 at this point. Perhaps if TATL pans out, the company will start thinking about widebody aircraft, but JetBlue is a conservative airline, and they're not going to introduce TATL service and a widebody aircraft at the same time, especi...

Look, the ETOPS horse is already dead. Sheesh.

We know what plane would be used for potential TATL ops: the 321LR. That's the only option. Rumor has it ETOPS program development is already underway.

Have you looked at the prices of J tickets on the JFK/BOS - LHR routes ? If B6 offered $599 ow flights in mint they could fill the whole plane. Now, could they make 1-2 times a day work, sure, they would have no issues filling a mint 321 just on O/D, the bigger question is from my point of view, is...

Re: Rumor: Jetblue E190 Decision imminent and Europe news?

An announcement is indeed imminent on the E190 (coming within the next ~2 months). The analysis was nearly complete last year, but once Bombardier shacked up with Airbus, the calculus obviously changed. I do cautiously expect a C-Series order. The CS has better range and short-field performance than...

The situation at B6 is complex: An extremely high aircraft utilization, coupled with the fact that 70% of their daily movements touch JFK/BOS, creates operational issues. Let's also not forget that upon learning of the error, JetBlue refunded the ticket and all fees ($475), offered the family a $2100 credit for future travel, AND paid them $10,000 for their troubles. I agree with others that the second food service on many flights - on not just BA but most airlines - is often prepackaged, unhealthy and not that appetizing.
