Alaska could likely drive VS out of SEA and add a third daily oneworld flight per day to LHR along with BA. IF they could get a Heathrow slot. VS is a JV with DL. Can’t see them getting “driven out.” Of the carriers currently flying SEA-LHR, load factors have shown that VS is the weakest of the thr...

AS doesn’t likely care too much about connectivity feeding HA flights out of JFK and BOS. If someone wants to fly to Hawaii out of most major east coast cities on ‘AS’ metal, they can fly to SEA and connect to their dozen daily flights to the islands. The problem with a very small crew base is that it is more affected by absenteeism. When you have an inordinate number of sick calls there aren’t enough ‘reserves’ to cover the flying. You end up having to use crews from other bases to cover that base. It gets to the point, especially around the hol...

You mean the 12 787s HA ordered? I though these were for the Pacific. HA’s 18 A321neo’s have the range for many new routes to HNL from the mainland. Their 24 A330’s, with a range over 8000 miles, were likely pegged to be replaced eventually by new 787’s but can all be retained with lease extensions.
