Perhaps it should be added to the in-flight safety video. They could get Terry Tate to demonstrate what happens when you block the aisle in an emergency.

I owe another guy a dollar for saying Meat Rocket instead of Motor City for MTRCT.
BTW, I think the elevators/escalators/walkways at PHX are currently maintained by KONE. Most of the equipment at PHX was originally Montgomery, except a few airside elevators in T4 and the West Economy Garage elevator (which is a Westinghouse and as far as I know never modernized). Also, the SkyTra...

Everyone else is expendable.
Big believer in airports being named after the geographic area served. Did anyone ever call SNA “John Wayne Airport”? “Orange County”, yes. I hear maybe a couple hundred people a year call it John Wayne but far more people call it Santa Ana as opposed to Orange County. Or more often than not, the J...
Jump to postI highly doubt this guy walks out of the local FSDO with his license in one piece.
Jump to postI've driven more ramp equipment than I can remember. One vehicle I do remember was a pushback my former employer borrowed from a rental company. It was an ex-Air Force tug from decades ago. It sat so high you were almost eye-to-eye with the pilots on a 737. I believe it was also a 3-speed manual as ...

Absurd. It would be more proactive to ban alcohol sales in the terminal vending, but that simply isn't going to happen.
The problem is the people, not the means.
Would be nice to have a sticky thread filled with decoded acronyms. I've been in the industry 20 years and I still see some that leave me stumped.

Jump to postI meant to look this up last week, but forgot. On Thursday 2/27, I saw a Qatar plane take off to the east over Tempe at around 3:30pm. Now that I'm thinking about it, too many days have passed for it to be showing up in FlightRadar. Anybody have info on it? In town for the Arabian Horse Show. Makes...

I think they should replace the recline button with an eject button.

Worked for B6 for 7 years when they were the hip new airline. Good times indeed, but it's not the same culture I remember.
That being said, I still prefer to fly B6 whenever possible.

I was out with the contractor blacking out the lead-in lines to T2. That pretty much was the end of it.

The root cause problem of all of this is that since the population is worried about chemtrails we really see the lotus population increasing. We need more chemtrails to keep us happy and to keep the lotus population under control.
The problem with single-pilot ops is that it's a full job on take-off and landing to be pilot monitoring and trying to handle radios and vectors, and run checklists, trying to manage radios and fly under a nonemergency situation would almost certainly result in fatalities. How many tough to say but...

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they're going to outsource all ground/CSA staff @ LGB. I hate the idea but it could lower costs enough to keep service there.

Jump to postMy guess is a new operation in PHX that includes a lounge/boarding area adjacent to the Swift hangar.
Jump to postHopefully with these new flights, F9 will put more pressure on their ramp contractor to add more staff and prioritize better. They're often unable to handle more than 1 flight at a time, and we often get called about angry passengers waiting an hour for bags.

I don’t see PHX to NRT anytime soon. LAX and DFW are each an hour to hour and a half away and they both have 2 flights to Tokyo each. I think PHL to NRT is more likely.
