You are right that I am proud the USA has the best aviation safety record in the world. I eagerly await a reference for this. With the amount of flights in the US, and not 1 pax fatality due to a crash in past decade, it is rather evident. Well there was exactly 1 on WN1380. But that's the only one...Jump to post
I wonder if AA will delay their retirement until the MAX issue is resolved. They said that's not going to happen. And it seems that EIS aanouncement is immenent with the FAA meeting with high level folks in the DFW area. There's also a scheduled meeting in Canada with airline executives. Shouldn't ...Jump to post
Could be seen as a better alternative to MCO. Having flown out of there recently, it's almost worth flying into TPA and driving in vs dealing with that mess. Some really good marketing could make this work. Even the thought of not having to pay the stupid tolls to/from Disney could make it worth it....Jump to post
Looks like FAT-ORD goes from A319 to E75L. That's quite a haul in an E75L.
But once again FAT loses mainline UA. Hopefully that changes again soon.

I would be highly intrigued how Delta would react if Southwest reinstates the former Airtran route PNS-ATL. Ticket prices jumped considerably on the ATL-PNS route once Airtran was bought out. All of those panhandle markets are ridiculously overpriced on DL to ATL. But unfortunately it doesn't make ...Jump to post
WN got entry to EWR when UA/CO merged and they were forced to give up slots. They took over legacy UAL gate in A-1 (which up until the mid-2000s UA took up the entire satellite.) Was EWR slot controlled then? Yes, EWR was slot-controlled until April 2016. BTW, one of the reason that WN bought FL, o...Jump to post
As a soon to be former CSA at WN, the MAX grounding is killing us (non mechanics) the most. The bad timing with Spring Break made it even harder with all flights at my station being full. My Cohearts fought valiantly and with Spring Break all but over the light at the end of the tunnel can be seen....Jump to post

BNA/STL at close to 200 daily departures isn't far fetched. I just don't think ATL will be a long term thing for them. They'll probably cut Atlanta down to the WN basics like LAS/PHX, Florida, and MDW/BWI, e.t.c. Nah man, those ATL gates are worth a lot. ATL may not be their best station but it's n...Jump to post
I find the PC-12's at Boutique to be pretty nice. I would hope for more models such as this. They certainly make use of the EAS subsidies and their prices are not that bad.Jump to post
Don’t get me wrong, I love Southwest ❤️ and I love LAS , but is it just me or is the terminal in desperate need of renovation? Compared to the AA terminal there it just looks absolutely worse down . Is there any plans to renovate the facilities ? It was actually renovated not too long ago. It used ...Jump to post

Rumor is that AA is going to bring back the milk run. It will be DFW-MAF-ELP-LRU-SVC-SAD-TUS-PHX, flown 2x daily, except Saturdays then 1x. I guess it could only be the CRJ2, but my source didn't know which equipment was going to be used. LOL. All of that intra-NM flying is easily drivable. Especia...Jump to post
(Below is a quote from the OAG thread) On AA's Jun 6 skd, ELP will get an A321 on their 1430 DFW trip and ABQ will get another shot of an MD-80 on the 1035 DFW trip. Thought we saw our last MD-80 last summer but will get to enjoy it again this summer. Will this be ELP's first A321 scheduled service...Jump to post

Your guesses are spot on. I'd say HNL w/AS will happen when AS upgages SEA. Does AS (OO or QX) have any unused slots at SNA? If not, that's a no-go thanks to Paine Field. How about SJD for AM as a one-stop to MEX, as MX did up in SMF once? AM is being left in the dust by Y4. Maybe AS could run a 17...Jump to post

So please correct me if I'm wrong. Is it true that WN's Rapid Rewards has no restrictions on the number of seats on each flight that can be redeemed? If true, all of those 'sold out' flights might be flying with a handful of people paying $49 and the rest flying for free. Ouch. Of course we'll like...Jump to post
Is it just me or is anybody else seeing most flights OAK-HNL sold out already??? Obviously I expected the $49 fares to be gone - but I certainly didn’t expect the entire plane to be sold out. Not sure why this is such a big story. Poor execution by Southwest to have taken this long to get here. Nice that they’ve finally gotten to this point, but would be far less newsworthy for any other carrier. It’s newsworthy because it has been highly anticipated. Southwest customers want it. Hello All, I've noticed over the last few years that all Airbus A320 models now have the ailerons act as ground spoilers after touchdown. When was this change implemented? Were there any mechanical changes that had to be made, or was it a simple software update?Jump to post

If any of them would have, it would be the 717. But even they don't. There's no need for the short stage lengths they operate. The other two are so close to retirement there's no way. Plus the MD80 is already inefficient, that added weight would exacerbate the problem.Jump to post
You can never exceed a limit. However you can exceed a planned weight that is below max up go max by xx amount. My company uses 2k before a new flight plan needs to be calculated. This does not mean you can takeoff +2K over any performance, runway or structural limit. The 2K is just the number befo...Jump to post

Yes, you are 100% right. I just assumed it was LIH due to KOA being such a disaster last summer. For this past summer, AS's best markets in the cases I looked at were SJC-LIH, SAN-OGG and SMF-OGG. They tried various options like LGB and LAX had the best success. I've read before that ONT is expensive to operate out of. Why expensive? Because they built a terminal no one asked for?
