I wonder if G4 will scale down and redeploy ECP flying this winter given the destruction they just suffered from the storm? They do VPS I think which fared much better. I believe it’s a year round base though it’s definitely too cold there December through February Wow, why did I think ECP?!? Thank...Jump to post
I thought you folks might want to know that WN, in a very unsurprising move, has upgraded ELP-SAN to DAILY service in response to AS entry into the market in an announcement 2 weeks ago. I haven't seen or heard any sort of announcement from WN but noticed the new flights quietly appear in their sch...Jump to post
I'd have to agree with you in the case that AS strategy going forward will be growing at their focus cities in CA. I believe the problem AS has right now is not having enough regionals to be able to grow in the intra-CA market out of SMF. The market does seem primed for AS to start service to SNA, ...Jump to post
Does anyone have info on the final G4 MD-80 flight out of Fresno? I'm thinking of taking it, as I'm sure there will be festivities of some sort. This will most likely be the last scheduled MD-80 here on the West Coast.Jump to post
I typically am not one to get into these, "We deserve new service!" No you don't because blah, blah, blah..." types of discussions. I know my own home airport (SAN) has repeated proved the naysayers wrong over the past five years or so. With regards to SMF-NYC, I wouldn't be surprise...Jump to post
Unless they felt like starting BUR-Hawaii too. Doesn't Burbank have similar runway length issues as SNA does? Just curious, not trying to be argumentative. I'd love to see SNA service. Please Lord, please let it happen!!! Actually, from South Orange County Long Beach actually isn't all that conveni...Jump to post
Hi everyone! This seems to be a trend so I'd like to throw my hat in to the ring for an a.net thread on a US region: Texas that isnt IAH/HOU or DFW/DAL; but other airports in the Houston or Dallas areas are ok to talk about here since theyre almsot never in the limelight. I think WN could stand to ...Jump to post
Yeah the writing is on the wall for the MD-90’s Sending engines to the sole MRO in New Zealand isn’t good in keeping costs down. Delta is forced to write them a blank check since fighting with the MRO on price can cause them to close shop and would ground the MD90 fleet. Do we know the retirement d...Jump to post

Surprise surprise, the US excuse of not having HSR passes again. Except for Alaska and a few other remote cities, EAS is simply a byproduct of not having reliable longer distance train travel Look to California if you want a glimpse of how HSR goes. Not very well. Yea, the US can't figure it out fo...Jump to post

I flew on that exact plane 2 years ago when it came to visit Fresno, CA. Definitely a must for any enthusiast.Jump to post
Yes. The master plan calls for the crosswind to be decommissioned in the future. Crazy that they're planning on just extending B and C when walk times from one end of one to the other are already quite long and the current concourses are very narrow for the amount of traffic / lack moving walkways....Jump to post
I agree with you. Every city has it's problems, but El Paso is great. I feel safer here than in Colorado Springs. Folks I've met are genuine, humble and friendly. You felt unsafe in COS? I've lived here 10 years and never felt unsafe. Having been to both Colorado Springs and El Paso, undoubtedly my...Jump to post
I've flown the 717 before on HA and I did not notice that noise. I recently flew on an MD88 at DL a few weeks ago and I did notice a slight noise with the bleed air, but it was not overbearing by any means.Jump to post

And El Paso is a nice town to live in, nice weather, very low crime, low cost living, desert scenery, beautiful sunsets, mild winters, ski resort two hours away, white sands very close and good mexican restaurants. The airport is very easy also but needs more competition to bring fares down, so thi...Jump to post
I do enjoy these threads. I like to see how WN is moving in their different markets, sort of like a high level WN performance overview. No other airline really runs their schedules the same way, which is why these threads are important. Some speculation is always in order for these types of threads,...Jump to post
From my handle, you can tell that I'm located in the MRY area. That said, it's been years since I flew in/out of MRY. It costs more, but mostly I've spent too many hours stuck in a foggy airport thinking about how I could have driven to SJC or SFO in less time. At least the parking is "free&qu...Jump to post
WN will quickly make ELP-SAN daily to further battle AS. Flyguy That flight should have stuck around as daily to begin with. It was a good route on WN. WN dropped ELP-SAN nonstop service almost 4 years ago when the Wright Amendment was repealed. Make that 5. But it was definitely doable at 1x daily...Jump to post

Also US west: wtf is up with the lack of public transportation?!!! Huh? Warm regards, San Francisco. The BART only does so much. SJC has horrible transit options when trying to get to BART or CalTrain, etc... LAX is barely now addressing that issue. BUR is lucky with a Metrolink/Amtrak station at t...Jump to post
Enilria , as always, your hard work on these threads is very much appreciated. Thank you very much! I have just discovered a new appreciation for your OAG threads. Why is this news or even a post? An airline is coming out with a schedule, ok. I would suggest that when the sked is out and it shows NEW destinations, then a thread opens up. We've been starting these Southwest network threads for a very long time. And as far as I know, Southwest is the only airli...Jump to post

In 2007, Northwest Airlines became the last major carrier to retire the DC-10 from passenger service in the United States. Re: Hawaiian- once the 717s start getting too old to keep going, couldn't turboprops be an option? Instead of 20 717s, how about 40 ATR-72s, or perhaps some future ATR that might come along in the next 15-20 years? Would this grounding be the reason I saw ~ 15-20 WN aircraft parked nose-north north of C-councourse at DEN on Wednesday last week (8 Aug). I can't imagine WN has talks with Airbus for any reason other than to squeeze Boeing for a few bucks on an order. Their entire operation has run on the 737 for 30+ years and given the continuity (parts, training, etc) between series and the size of their fleet, they don't have a particularly pressi...Jump to post

In California especially it is just as easy to drive I-5 as it is to fly SFO>LAX. I-5 makes inter-west coast driving very easy as it runs from Seattle to San Diego. I don’t think anyone driving I-5 at virtually any hour of the day between SF and LA would call it easy. I think the West is harder for...Jump to post

Probably like Oakland. You'd have a mixed array of mainline and regional, tons of WN but most big players would be there with token service.Jump to post
