I'm sure other airports suffer from this, but no inter-terminal airside transit at ORD is a big mistake. The terminal transfer bus recently reopened. I haven't used it yet because by the time I walk from C6 to B1, wait up to 15 minutes, and then ride the bus to K20, only then to have to walk to L24...

Great report and congrats on the checkride! I did mine back in October and had pretty much the same scenario except it was DTW to ORD. Be sure to ride some jumpseats in your time off. It'll be the last time you get that much time off in a row for a while.
