Actually just remembered (shows short memory not as good as 1986!) ...boarding a BA 777 at MAD and that was last year. Disembarked at MAD from a B767 too using stairs, so occasionally they use a remote stand adjacent the main T4S

We used stairs for the Lufthansa 744s at TXL last year when they were using them on the FRA runs. Years ago, 1986 I remember stairs at ORD boarding a BA 747. Interestingly though of you look at QF FF rewards bookings, there are often quite a lot of options on CX available (from LHR) to a variety of destinations in Australia and New Zealand

I flew on one of the QR A320s VIE LHR last year and yes full free service, even with hot food and not a M&S sandwich in sight. Big improvement on the norm. A nice flight.

Concorde without doubt.

Classic mistake...one day I'll try it, plenty of time. Left it too late in the end. Taught me a lesson.

Apart from Concorde. DC8, 707 and Tristar worth a mention too.

Don't forget didn't Delta acquire a fleet of DC10s (about 8 or 9) -10s when they took over Western?

ANA had a reasonably large Tristar fleet for a non US carrier as I recall too.

Flew WA yesterday ATH LHR, I remember seeing her at LHR a few days after delivery on her Landor scheme. I like picking the 767 flight down to MAD too.

I think there’ll be less traffic (and potentially major bargains) as the U.K. wrecks it’s trading relationship with the market that buys 50% of its exports. Weren't Mexicana's 727s notified for high altitude take offs from MEX or am I mistaken?

Rolls Royce almost caused the demis of the Lockheed 1011 aircraft as its engine had problems and the British government had to bail Rolls Royce of out of bankruptcy.
