Re: What was Iran Air like pre-revolution

LHR had 3 flights a day in late 78. 707 from THR plus a 74L to JFK and another from JFK to THR. LHR had 550 staff based in London, that fell to 50 almost overnight at the time of the revolution. Before the revolution their central London office used to get the pro-Khomeini supporters come in, smash ...

Agreed that Club Europe is really a waste but there are a few exceptions : BA 777 LHR-MAD-LHR going to B789 soon. IB A346/A330 MAD-LHR-MAD. AY A350 HEL-LHR-HEL. LA B789 MAD-FRA-MAD. These can all be booked with BA/Avios. I’ve done them all in J & loved everyone. A great way to try long haul air...

My heart says Air New Zealand my head as a OW FF says AA as my choice.

But seriously depends on your criteria.

Actually if cost is a factor do check NZ because at certain times they have some great fares and promos (Inc PY) to fill the plane during low season UK-NZ-UK periods. Well worth checking.

Perfectly explained VirginFlyer :) Thanks both ... I figured you get some internal furnishings sometimes. But I hadn't really noticed them that much on the 787 before. Probably because it was a Qantas 787 that I was looking properly this time. I've got a flight on her booked and cabin looks nice. I...
