Has Boeing been more transparent in the past? Or as beholden to alternative truths?
In other words is this a new trend, or the way business has always been done.

Re: Longest delay with paid hotel?

Hence my post and its question, because this indeed was so unusual. It was due to an electrical fire in the cockpit before takeoff that left such a nauseating smell that crews refused to fly the G-CIVO for days. The huge NAMM show at Vegas meant all flights were full to the brim, making substitution...

British Airways G-CIVO was supposed to leave last week Wednesday from Las Vegas for Heathrow. It did not. British Airways passengers were put in hotels paid for by BA till Saturday, when the flight finally left. How long delays have you heard of or experienced?

At least the G-CIVO G-CIVY and G-CIVK British 747s were there last week. The Wednesday flight was delayed till Saturday, with the passengers waiting those days in hotels paid by BA. The cockpit smelled too much of an electrical fire that crews refused to fly.

Re: Impossible routes between big cities due to distance more than 9500nm

The Concorde was quite economical once up cruising. Meaning, its cruise consumption per seat-kilometer was only four times as much as a 747? Or was it more than that? Yes, roughly the same mpg on both planes. The 747 seats 4 times more people, for more hours in lesser seat pitch, at less than half ...

The thing is that, I don't think this flights can be possible in the future unless planes can go faster. I don't imagine 21-22 hours or more non-stop seated on a plane. What do you guys think? I have to disagree here. When a plane flies faster it burns more fuel and therefor decreases it's range. T...

3 dB can comfortably be heard, although the difference is nearer to 5dB depending on engine type. 3 dB can easily be distinguished in direct A-B comparison. But you will not be able to hear the difference when you hear one aircraft now and the other one 1/2 hour later. And that is for continuous no...

The differences in the noise levels shown above are so small, that an untrained obersever won't hear the difference. Distance makes a big difference as dB decrease logarithmically with distance. They don't. In a freefield environment they drop by 6 dB per doubling the distance, further away friom the source in the reverberant field they stay more or less constant. But that will take us too far off. The important ...

A higher volume steady noise from a steady sound source, like wind or engines, helps mask intermittent noise sources, which are more irritating and noticable. Yellow is a good color. If using more of it was too budgety cheapy for a premium image, then why not tint it towards gold. This new look is too much like a legal office that tries hard to appear serious and competent, scared of appearing creative or soulful. No twinkle or sparkle.
