I was told it was due to Charter Express/JetBlue. JetBlue wants to stay in Terminal 2. Charter Express does the ground work for JetBlue. It does above and below wing work for Frontier, Alaska, and Allegiant and does not want to split up its operation.

I was told by AA folks they cannot change to sharklets because of the wingspan it adds to the aircraft. Apparently the planes would not be able to fit at most of AA gates in PHX if they were converted.

DEN does not need two commercial airports, but APA would not be a bad alternative for DAC and Great Lakes if they can make it work. No need for major carriers there. Living three miles from the airport, I do not mind the noise and have never heard of a complaint from anyone else.

The odor was from a maintenance issue, not passed gas. It remained at RDU with the outbound being cancelled due to the maintenance issue. The flight came in from CLT.
