Powerbacks are prohibited at UAL, as the entire fleet has underwing engine pods which increases risk for FOD ingestion and injuries to ramp crew. Powerouts are permitted at certain gates without obstructions where the bridge can be pulled clear of the wingspan but are rarely used in practice.
