A quick glance at Flightaware shows late night departures from Alliance and early morning returns to Alliance. Destinations through yesterday were Mobile, Omaha, Des Moines and Kansas City. So yeah, you would most likely see them parked during the day.

My bet is BT will come out ahead. They've built some critical mass with the fleet and operation and the product is far superior. There may be some short term bleeding but long term, they'll come out on top.

I flew an old 58 several years ago, it's still used on a combination of courier services and on-demand. Loved it, with 500 or 600 pounds of freight it was still a rocket, would love to fly a new one. There's a 135 outfit that still flies 55s and 58s out of Dallas.

I don't recall Icelandair ever serving South Florida, when did they serve FLL? I do remember seeing Martinair, Hapag Lloyd, Transwede, Blue Scandinavia and Air Belgium, among others, over the years at FLL, along with those previously mentioned.

My first trans-Atlantic flight as a kid late 70s. Started on a Luxair F-27 from GVA to LUX, then the DC-8 to Nassau, then an Eastern L-1011 to Miami. Way back was the DC-8 to LUX and a Luxair Caravelle to Le Bourget. Talk about being hooked.

I can't speak for the 6000 but I fly the classic, and not that flightaware is always accurate but if you compare the flight plans listed above, the 787 was flight planned at 486kts whereas the Global was planned at 452kts.
