If we are just looking at the engine and not the impact on the airframe, at first glance, this looks more serious than QF32. The fan is gone. Purely in terms of the engine, the damage is significant. You seem familiar with QF32, but for those that aren't, let me just explain that in the latter case...

Based on O&D, SEA is not exactly a top SIN traffic generator. Cities like Boston, Chicago, DC, Dallas, etc generate more local demand. Also there are multiple other larger Asia-Pac O&D markets from SEA which DL has yet to launch nonstop, so not sure a distant SIN exactly at top of the list....

I read some posts a month or so ago with some concerns AF was reducing BOS-CDG to 1x daily next year. Just did a random search next summer (July 13th) and the second daily AF is there. Using both a 77W and A332 plus DL's 76W. Glad to see AF holding strong in BOS.

Interesting add for JFK-PDL. It seemed that the Azores was more VFR - Does PDL have much tourism?

BOS/PVD has a large (believe the largest outside of the Azores) Azores ex-pat community, surprised DL didn't do BOS-PDL instead. Would it be too competitive with S4 and that's why they went with JFK?
