Regardless of what people may read into this - DL themselves have said SEA is profitable. Is it ATL? Ofc not. But it makes money and DL is in it for the long haul

AMS isnt going anywhere. Very good load factors. And from what i have seen, DL commands a premium over BA. BA is always the cheapest to and from PDX and SEA. Flew them once and never again. I saw an option for going through the VIP treatment, I think it was with BA last time I flew them. If I remember correctly, it was 380 euros additional to go to the VIP terminal. Or maybe it was a VIP lounge.. but yeah not very cheap.

Finnair CEO was on CNN. He stated that leisure premium travel is up. He was asked why he thought that was. He said he believed it was because people’s ideology has changed throughout the pandemic, and are more likely to splurge on themselves. I can see that.

With DL’s push in SEA, i think PDX isnt their number one focus in the NW anymore. Delta can drive all that HND traffic through Seattle. ICN would make sense for sure. With tourism way down in PDX - understandably so- I don’t see DL continuing HND. ICN will be a much better route for them. One can still get to TYO with one stop.

And especially when comparing the cost to fly in the US vs Europe. I can get a C class ticket and fly across Europe for the same price as I paid to fly in Y from PDX to MCO. Airfare in the states is much higher in general in my experience at least.

This all is very true. OneWorld and Star have all cut service to the bare bones in Europe. The only decent full service carriers in Europe are AF and KL. SkyTeam. They are bettering on board offerings while their competition charges for soda and coffee. KLM serves a sandwich and hands out free Heine...

I too have noticed that in the US the seatbelt sign is on most of the flight. In Europe, it tends to go off after 10k. The FAs are also seated at all times when the seatbelt sign is on. And spring into action when it turns off.

Looks like DL has changed the flight time on the AMS flight. Looking at November 8 - Leaves at 4pm and arrives AMS 11am. Used to leave at 150pm. Not liking this change. Prior one could make the KL morning bank. Not so much anymore.

I would imagine that it’s filled with Ghanaian government officials going on shopping holidays with their cards linked directly to the state bank account that are upset because their travel plans got delayed. I’m sure they don’t give a hoot about the average residents bad experiences.

Agreed. Not sure why anyone would choose to fly AS over DL on anything longer than 2hrs. Service is just as good and you have a ptv to make time pass. And no, I do not and will not drag my iPad with to watch a movie.

Well I do not know about that! It seems their fleet is stretched rather thin. My aunts flight to Riga was cancelled two weeks ago and rebooked the next day. Then yesterday again, SmartWings was operating the BT flight. What kind of issues are they having? Staffing or?
