If UA was going to start ICN-ORD/EWR, they would have done it by now. ICN is the missing link at ORD and EWR, but UA must have a reason not to run it. Their loss at ORD is KEs gain.Jump to post
JL only has two day time HND slots. I seriously doubt they will give up JFK and SFO for IAH and that airport in Michigan. If those airports were printing $ to HND, than why didn't DL, UA, and NH use those slots for routes from IAH and Michigan city to HND? Heck, DL thought MSP was better (or as Mich...Jump to post
I live in the flight path to 17L/C/R (east side of DFW, north to south landings), an AA MD80s have noticeably disappeared the last 6 months. ORD is actually getting more as stations are phased out and others are routed to both DFW and ORD, hence DFW-TPA-ORD now in routing. ORD/DFW is the rumored las...Jump to post
Congrats MSY! Glad to see more int'l service in this great city!Jump to post
ORD is a frequency market from LHR with significant F&J demand. BA and AA compliment each other. BA has mentioned ORD as a 380 destination, but the restrictions on 380 operations at ORD are the reason BA and EK don't send the whale there. As more pre-clearance locations open and the new 9 gates ...Jump to post
Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing! I hope BA does well in NOLA!Jump to post
Glad to see AA slightly increasing ORD! It's tough with the limited gate space and shift to mainline and bigger planes.
SEA-ORD will be a yield turn this fall. As mentioned above, AS is probably smart enough to not join the battle.
In the last 3 weeks SEA-ORD has picked of 7 flights:
UA: 2 (last week)
AA: 2 (this week)
AS, next week?
I wish AA would run ORD-GUA longer. Maybe UA will try this given there success (seasonal) to BZE, LIR, SJO, and Caribbean islands. There is some O&D from Chicago to GUA, but the market from Chicago is extremely seasonal (2x daily in winter, lucky for once a week in summer).Jump to post
DFW is booming while DTW is recovering from bankruptcy. People are leaving DTW as fast as they are moving to DFW, why is that! Detroit once had well over 1m people, now AUS, FTW, JAX, etc. keep growing and are bigger than DTW. You say I hijack this 1 thread, while you hijack every thread. Me 1, you ...Jump to post
Just get better slots for ORD and LAX, and this is a good investment.Jump to post
If you add Kenishow (sp), WI and NW Indiana, Chicagoland is over 10.5M people. Let's compare apples to apples. DTW fanboys must subscribe to MSNBC and only the facts DTW wants to hear. I live in the DFW area and wish we had more international airlines, but we have the massive AA that keeps airlines ...Jump to post
And soon we will hear how this is a "slap in the face to DTW," and "AA just doing anything to hurt DTW."Jump to post
Better LAX and ORD slots would be great!Jump to post
Was rough here in DFW last night! The Jan EF0 took out my roof, garage, fence, screens, and gutters. This storm took out my parents roof in Flower Mound as well as my brother and sisters homes in Highland Village. Denton County is in the bulls eye this year, and that impacts DFW.Jump to post
Compare DTW to similar sized cities flights and you will be pleasantly surprised. Why is it that DTW can't accept what you have? Chicago is an Alpha city with many Fortune 500 companies. DTW also has to compete with YYZ, NYC, DC area, and that DL hub in ATL. Be happy the hub is there. DTW could look...Jump to post
DTW: At least you have DL as the hub airline. I would take that over UA or AA any day. You also have nonstop to NGO. Not many in North America or Europe can say that. Not bad for a metro are less than 1/2 the size of the 800 lb gorilla 280 miles west!Jump to post
Low season. Maybe this summer is less than expected and this is a start.Jump to post
Even if a CAN allocation was available, DFW is probably not in the cards. Now if AA could get better ORD and real LAX slots...
Too bad Parker missed the Trump meeting. It could have helped them as Trump seems to be America First. Don't play by the rules, a wall and tax will happen.
Maybe the not in service MOM planes will re-open ORD-GLA. But I doubt that. AAs long haul at ORD is a thing of the past. Even UA hasn't added anything the last two years. Of course, there are no gates during peak times for arrivals at T-5. Until more gates are added or more cities get pre-clearance,...Jump to post
More than enough to justify DTW!
JK. ORD, as much as the DTW lovers will ignore, has a better shot a secondary Texas cities.
DFW-CAN/CKG? As much as I would love to see this; no slots and no market. AA would add ORD-HKG before this, and that's not in the cards.Jump to post
What, no DTW? This thread is not realistic without DTW!
DTW fanboys, chill out. MIA and BOS fanboys have a sense of reality and must be of age and have real jobs!
GRK has military connections. DFW and ATL make sense. I'm sure DTW can handle all that and more!Jump to post
WN isn't interested in adding a 1 or 2 flight a day city. If WN can not connect the city to BWI, DAL, HOU, LAS, MDW, or PHX, there is not much future.Jump to post
Good God, this will upset the DTW fanboys! At least the MIA and BOS fanboys can handle sarcasm. These DTW fanboys (must be teen agers) can't handle a joke. I did my internship at DL and know how they operate. I'm so old that I had dinner with Ron Allen and talked about schedule / hub optimization. T...Jump to post
What a shock, "What about DTW?"
Every thread has "What about DTW?" Even the BOS and MIA threads don't talk about West Texas.
This is for O&D connecting the 3rd largest metro area in the US with the growing SEA hub. I don't think many travelers in Chicago take DL to Asia given all of the flights (4x Daily NRT, 1X Daily HND, 3X Daily BJS, 3X Daily PVG, 2X Daily HKG, 2X Daily ICN, 1X Daily TPE). I'm sure in the next coup...Jump to post

Should be interesting. Is LAX next from ORD.
Maybe ORD will no get 788 service to GRU to compete with UA.Jump to post
I'm sure our friends in DTW will say that CAN, CTU, and all the other secondary China cities served via SFO/LAX/JFK, are much better served via DTW. DTW has a better location, better hub, more secondary China O&D than NY, LA, SF, and CHI combined! Not to mention DTW and CAN have the highest per ...Jump to post
I'm sure the US3 are happy with this! They will compete with "Clever Norweigean," but are terrified of airlines with a real first class. Just goes to show that the US3 product is geared to Chevy, not Cadilac.Jump to post
