 Than why come here? Don't post here if you don't want to see it, simple. Some people come here because - between the inevitable whining, crying, and gnashing of teeth from some conspiracy fabricator - we hope to glean at least a few facts about an airport that is an important (albeit not the...Jump to post

Who will be first, Qantas to SYD or Air New Zealand to AKL? My money is on NZ - they have a couple of premium config 789 that should be able to make it. If see ORD and GRU/GIG next up for NZ. Someone even suggested LAS for NZ, then extending it to London. But this will just dilute the traffic to Lo...Jump to post
2019 will be the year ORD gets some love. T5 will have 9 new gates and there will be a UA/AA turf war for the prime 1pm to 6pm time. Given 2.5 flights times 9 gates opens up 22ish flights that will go fast (along with other airlines and more Pre-clearance that will add a few more flights). ORD could...Jump to post

Love him or hate him, Trump is probably one of a few people that will get real China slots. US carriers are at a disadvantage. Look at the shit slots ORD and LAX get for AA while Chinese carriers can do what they want. DFW got great slots as a "new market." Give ORD and LAX similar slots a...Jump to post
UA adding more ORD-GSO/GSP. Direct response to AA.Jump to post
I love TPA, but find it hard to believe a leisure destination outperforms F/J heavy routes like IAD/JFK/LAX/ORD. I could be wrong.Jump to post
MSP has a large Fortune 500 base that pays for the O&D portion of the hub. Regarding"going from ORD-MSP-Europe," it must be a DL contract. ORD offers a plethora of nonstops that MSP will probably not see in the next 20 years. As much as it hurts me to say this, DTW is a better Europe t...Jump to post
Guys, this isn't some sort of mystery. I'm amazed no one has thought to check AA's website, they've already loaded the 789 and the 77W hasn't magically vanished. The rumor that MIA-LAX on the 77W will end is exactly that- a rumor, and not one of much substance. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4183/3...Jump to post
DFW-AMS is one route I struggle with. ORD was announced and dropped (911 plus UA and KL) no JFK/MIA, etc. it's a low yield market that KLM served and dropped! Yet this overflies ORD, JFK, and PHL.
Seems like this is toilet yield or connections not offered via LHR / JFK.
As mentioned above, geography is holding MIA-Asia nonstop service.
MIA is located perfectly for LatAm and has all the Euro beach traffic supporting U.K./EU airlines.
I would think that Detroit to India has potential. My question is why would the start service to a city where one of the ME3 already serves and covers India really better than Air India can and not add cities where they can have the whole market to themselves. Detroit is a small market. DL/9W are b...Jump to post
I will be pleasantly surprised if AA comes to DFW. I think you mean AI, AA already has a large hub there ;) Surprised AI is not looking at ORD-BOM given where the Chicago population is from. Although, DFW is tilted towards BOM as well. Yeah, DFW does seem to be a stretch for AI. FWIK it is a lower-...Jump to post
Ill be honest, I would have expected IAH first simply because of the Star Hub and nothing else. DFW has a larger and much faster growing Indian community and the business ties that DFW has with India are growing exponentially. If you spend time in a place like Irving or Plano, its pretty overwhelmi...Jump to post
HNL!!! (And before we get some person who doesn't understand sarcasm, because there's ALWAYS one, let it be known this is a vain attempt of answering the bi-weekly "Why don't European airlines fly to to Hawaii" threads) While your at it, might as well as DTW to the list. You know that fan...Jump to post
Living in DFW, not sure what BNE brings other than down guaging DFW-SYD?
DFW-MEL makes sense.
What about SYD-ORD/JFK? Both make sense.
Topic speaks for itself. ORD: AA, UA, LCCs, and DL; will it happen? DAL: unfortunately, can't happen MDW: where? LGA/JFK/EWR: work in progress YYZ: Could use a 40 gate transborder terminal ATL: DL can never have too many gates LAX: all airlines SEA: DL and AS DCA: add gates, but no slots LHR: never ...Jump to post
If UA was going to start ICN-ORD/EWR, they would have done it by now. ICN is the missing link at ORD and EWR, but UA must have a reason not to run it. Their loss at ORD is KEs gain.Jump to post
JL only has two day time HND slots. I seriously doubt they will give up JFK and SFO for IAH and that airport in Michigan. If those airports were printing $ to HND, than why didn't DL, UA, and NH use those slots for routes from IAH and Michigan city to HND? Heck, DL thought MSP was better (or as Mich...Jump to post
I live in the flight path to 17L/C/R (east side of DFW, north to south landings), an AA MD80s have noticeably disappeared the last 6 months. ORD is actually getting more as stations are phased out and others are routed to both DFW and ORD, hence DFW-TPA-ORD now in routing. ORD/DFW is the rumored las...Jump to post
Congrats MSY! Glad to see more int'l service in this great city!Jump to post
ORD is a frequency market from LHR with significant F&J demand. BA and AA compliment each other. BA has mentioned ORD as a 380 destination, but the restrictions on 380 operations at ORD are the reason BA and EK don't send the whale there. As more pre-clearance locations open and the new 9 gates ...Jump to post
Awesome pics! Thanks for sharing! I hope BA does well in NOLA!Jump to post
Glad to see AA slightly increasing ORD! It's tough with the limited gate space and shift to mainline and bigger planes.
SEA-ORD will be a yield turn this fall. As mentioned above, AS is probably smart enough to not join the battle.
In the last 3 weeks SEA-ORD has picked of 7 flights:
UA: 2 (last week)
AA: 2 (this week)
AS, next week?
I wish AA would run ORD-GUA longer. Maybe UA will try this given there success (seasonal) to BZE, LIR, SJO, and Caribbean islands. There is some O&D from Chicago to GUA, but the market from Chicago is extremely seasonal (2x daily in winter, lucky for once a week in summer).Jump to post
DFW is booming while DTW is recovering from bankruptcy. People are leaving DTW as fast as they are moving to DFW, why is that! Detroit once had well over 1m people, now AUS, FTW, JAX, etc. keep growing and are bigger than DTW. You say I hijack this 1 thread, while you hijack every thread. Me 1, you ...Jump to post
Just get better slots for ORD and LAX, and this is a good investment.Jump to post
If you add Kenishow (sp), WI and NW Indiana, Chicagoland is over 10.5M people. Let's compare apples to apples. DTW fanboys must subscribe to MSNBC and only the facts DTW wants to hear. I live in the DFW area and wish we had more international airlines, but we have the massive AA that keeps airlines ...Jump to post
And soon we will hear how this is a "slap in the face to DTW," and "AA just doing anything to hurt DTW."Jump to post
Better LAX and ORD slots would be great!Jump to post
Was rough here in DFW last night! The Jan EF0 took out my roof, garage, fence, screens, and gutters. This storm took out my parents roof in Flower Mound as well as my brother and sisters homes in Highland Village. Denton County is in the bulls eye this year, and that impacts DFW.Jump to post
