Emirates and Ryanair? Is this the DTW thread?
Jump to postAA has tried tons of longhaul routes over the years from ORD -- EZE, DEL, GRU, FRA, HEL, DME, etc. As AA VP of Networks stated today, Chicago international flying has historically been "chronically loss-making - some of the worst in the network." They seem to do OK with seasonal flying, b...
Jump to postLIM is rumored to happen in 2019 as well. Good things coming to ORD! Just need more gates!
Jump to postDelta will do whatever it needs too to keep the title of worlds busiest airport for Atlanta and after that it will make sure that it can call ATL the busiest airport in the Americas. It's something Delta loves to run up the flag pole as often as it can. I see you have already been called out for th...
Jump to postLike ORD, DFW it too far out of the way for the majority of the US population. But DTW isn't there are many passengers that their shortest route is over DTW in the Delta network but are forced over ATL Asia and Europe have many more favorable routings over Detroit but in most cases you are required...
Jump to postThere have been “discussions” of HA at ORD, but I’m hearing AA is more likely, but not anytime soon.
Now that ET and NZ have announced service, getting QF as well as service to ATH, BOG (will happen), EZE, GYE/UIO, LIM, LIS, MXP, OSL, and TLV are top priorities.
Is it me, or does the new "Global T-2" seem to lack enough international gates? Of course this is just conceptual, but it doesn't look great for 1 and * carriers.
Jump to postJFK, LAX, MIA, BOS, and DTW seem like the obvious choices for North America.
Jump to postNo. UA will get other planes and then move the oldest and worst to ORD (biggest hub, but red-headed step-child when it comes to new aircraft).

Jump to postNo major announcements in Chicago the next two weeks. After that...
Jump to postExpect an announcement at the end of March regarding a new US route.
Hint, it’s not DEN or LAS.

No update on new routes? SEA / ORD, or the entitled Midwest airports?
Jump to postADrum23 wrote:Why is EY being cut when it is doing much better than EK. And what exactly is the issue with EK, why are the loads so bad?
We’re used to it. How many “I predict” and “rumor is” have been posted? Absolutely no credibility and brings the whole DTW forum look like a bunch of idiots. If KLMs predictions / rumors are real, DTW will have the largest international year over year growth in US aviation history! And ORD and YYZ w...
Jump to postYeah for Vegas! Double yeah for no DTW takeover (yet)!
Jump to postlowfareair wrote:klm617 wrote:Expect DTW to be announced before the end of the year. DTW is very much on EK's radar whether those believe it or not.
So... this week?
The Bill hasn’t even cleared the Senate and will still have to be reconciled with the House Bill. Given there’s about 12 days left in Congress this year, let’s see if anything happens.
Jump to postMust be good. ATL-ICN is scheduled.
DTW fans will say this is the end of DTW as the 359 will end up in ATL, LAX, MSP, & SEA and DTW will get the Ford Pintos of the fleet.
Removing RJs is find but replace them one for one with mainline.. This statement shows me you have no idea what you're talking about. You can’t win when it comes to DTW, common sense goes out the window. Unless a cut flight is replaced by a wide body to an international city, it is a conspiracy aga...
Jump to postProbably designed by a drunk that now works at the Chive.
Jump to postROA airport is asking DL to restore the ROA-DTW route. I'd say this would be a good CRJ-700 route for GoJet or Skywest. Remember ROA was discontinued in 2014. http://www.wdbj7.com/content/news/Roanoke-Blacksburg-airport-recruits-help-for-nonstops-to-Dallas-Denver-Detroit-452845283.html COS is looki...
Jump to post:checkmark: AA president Robert Isom today referred to this pending codeshare, and the broader strategic relationship, with China Southern as a "game changer" for AA. I suspect he's right - this is going to dramatically improve AA's competitive position in Mainland China. Maybe this will ...
Jump to postAre you rooting for the region or the airport? The former only stands to gain from YQG service. If there's one thing everyone but you and KLM617 have understood by now, it's that there isn't room for another carrier flying London to Detroit. And that is one thing you and most other people don't und...
Jump to postHipster Air! Look for all planes to be based at AUS and PDX with registrations of N420xx, with shuttle service to DEN and SEA.
Jump to postIf AA can’t make it work from MIA, forget about any other US route, even NYC.
Jump to postAA is weak in Germany. They can’t make MIA and ORD work! LH has done well in DFW, but that’s about it for DFW-Germany.
TXL and DUS to ORD have potential in the right sized plane (yield to be profitable). Whether it is UA or LH Group (not LH, but partner).

Surprised ORD leads North America, considering the outdated facilities there. All the more reason to get going on the Terminal rebuild/expansion. Just think what ORD could be with the new runway layout and proposed terminal set-up! Could be a real powerhouse if local airlines put as much attention ...
Jump to postIgnore the trolls. This forum has turned into my airport vs. your airport. There are many great posters here with knowledge, insight, and experience. Jump to postAnd why do people do that do they not realize that by inflating the numbers of another airport is never going to land them more convenient services if anything that means that carriers are going to routinely add flights to those larger markets because people are willing to drive over an hour rather...
Jump to postShe's a beauty! Too bad we won't see her in the States (except troll approved airports).
Jump to postIf they make it that far.
Jump to postYou just wait until DY starts the "entitled" Midwest cities! Will put these numbers to shame! Ba Wit Da Ba!
Jump to postI've heard about MIA/DFW/ORD,and also EZE. PEK seems not longer to be scheduled Make sense as AA large hubs with great connections! But as expected, the CLT and PHL fan club feels they are entitled to this as PHL is AAs European hub (albeit low margin) and CLT is the 2nd largest mainline. Just wait...
Jump to postI've always wondered the same thing, you'd think a nonstop would be doable year round, at least 2x weekly. Ps I bet some notorious posters are going to comment on here complaining about how DTW takes over the world. Too many notorious posters! We all know the Aviation world revolves around DTW. I p...
Jump to postTrue. Question DTW and you are banned. Forum has turned into a joke!
Jump to post¿ORD and BOS first IB A350 destinations like the A330-300 years ago? ORD maybe in the summer. Though it seems to be doing well since it's a 346 year round now. Though I would really expect them to use it for EZE, SCL, or MEX first to get the most out of the fuel savings over the 340. ORD is just te...
Jump to postYes, but unfortunately, the A-Netter's arm chair CEOs have control and all of these routes have A-Net approval before ORD (and all the O&D / Connections). ATL: DL hub of the world BOS: Why not, wicked awesome! DEN: F ORD DTW: If it wasn't for DL, etc., DTW would handle 125M passengers per year, ...
Jump to postChicago actually has very few African immigrants. Minneapolis, Dallas, Houston, and Atlanta have way more than Chicago does. True statement. If at all, South African Caucasian are the biggest settlement, but nothing like south Florida. Some really great South African bars on the N/NE side, but not ...
Jump to postLoad factor doesn't mean squat. Yields do, and airlines protect that information.
Also, if it hurts DY, that's what open markets are for.
Indy is perfect for an Asia flight Oh dear God, Detroit south with entitlements to every major international market nonstop. This entitled to LHR, now NRT is getting out of hand. IND is a short drive/flight to ORD and DTW. No reason for IND to NRT. Sure, you said Asia, but substitute ICN for NRT an...
