I think work on such buildings probably needs revamping, with practices like in aviation where all tools must me accounted for, every action that will cause heat needs a plan, supervision, heat sensors after the work... Maybe also install fire suppression as part of the scaffolding.

Cupertino is in the Bay Area but it isn't on the Bay itself, nor exactly near SF. Without going into high rises (which are inefficient and environmentally unfriendly, also not a smart move in a place with seismic activity) low rise apartment buildings should be more common and encouraged. In France they tried to solve this by providing inmates with old school landlines in their cells (obviously not drug bosses etc.). It failed, they still wanted mobile phones or smartphones and did what was needed to get them.

Paris has been mentioned, there is only one 200m building there and it's hated by all (the Montparnasse tower, not talking about the Eiffel tower). Tall buildings don't make a city important.

Suspension bridge is suspended by two cables, lose one everybody dies.

Cable stayed you can lose several cables without issue.

Also makes replacing cables much easier.

As a non doctor I was thinking about this too, as they initially operated without thinking about cancer (without ruling it out either I'm sure) so it probably appeared as cysts on an ovary or something like that. Would that operation lead to three months recovery though ?

Also used and abused by politicians, I live near the Vélizy air base used by the French AF1 and other government aircraft so I often see them and sometimes have to let them pass (president, prime minister, minister of the interior and defense, probably not lower ones).

There is a big issue with commercial real estate right now, no bank will touch this.

I'm not sure why rich people buy flats in tall buildings in NYC, it seems it's not to live in them. So I don't see why they would buy one in OKC.
