they also wholly own Buta, doing the regional work on E190s as a quasi LCC. Georgia, Turkey, Russia, etc. (I’ve flown them and the short missions like TBS are suited well to the Embraer)

I had a number of AUH-LAX legs on the 77L. Longest clocked in at 16:45 or so. When it started on EY it was 3rd or 4th longest in the world by distance, not sure on endurance. (done 15:30s on LA HKG, far from the longest, but up there at the time for endurance esp. in Winter)

Flew on an HY b model in 2010. Was so excited when the bus at TAS pulled up to it. Unique plane and exactly as described in the experiences above. Also our bus drive right by an SY IL96, what a beauty.

Interesting, I just looked into LAX to a few AA hubs like DFW and MIA and got no listings (like not one), BUT I do get LAX-PHX listings on AA metal. I guess its a glitch of some sort.

BTW, I have never, once, gotten a WN listing on google flights or ITA Matrix.

Soundstages are in HUGE demand, there is a shortage of them. Huge sets are still built for the simple reason that visual effects are just as expensive as a large set.

The busiest would have to be Haneda. JAL had 114 orders for the 747, ANA had 46 total 747 orders. With 160 between those two and heavy domestic use of 747s, I can’t imagine any other airport but HND would even come close.

It was nice while it lasted for B6 at LGB. They just cut so much, Portland in particular. That I haven’t flown from there in years. Lightsaber, you had to wait 20 minutes at TSA there? Yes, it was a 737 800, I needed a one way ticket LAX-DXB as part of a 15 country trip 2years ago and the cheapest routing was Norwegian LAX-ARN-DXB the ARN-DXB was on the 737. I remember it being pretty full, I don’t think they blocked seats.

Well, in a bit of good news for the airlines, oil prices are TANKING, down 30% in one shot. This is more Saudi pissed off at Russia for not agreeing to cuts in production as well as Coronavirus fears. We are talking oil at $30. Astonishing drop.

If an A380 struggles at LAX, at sea level, where temps rarely exceed 25C, and are mostly under 20C, then Airbus really messed up in their calculations.

Thanks for posting that.

As for a better camera, the best small camera is the Sony RX 100 series. The sensor on the RX series is many times bigger than any phone or even the gopro. And especially the Sony for video, they get high marks. Should easily fit in yout flight bag, very capable camera.

Been there a few times, DY to ARN last year and NZ from RAR this year. And a few times before that.

I wouldn’t call them a waste. Lots of folks go way slow on stairs, at least the gentle slope of the ramp makes the accessible to those who need it.

While waiting for family to arrive at LAX this morning I noticed the same NASA flight on FR24. Also noted an 330 tanker inbound over Canada, an AN 124 was Tulsa bound, too. Forgot how entertaining poking around on FR24 can be, as well as sitting at In-n-out and watching traffic.

I flew out of BFL a couple years ago to IAH...oil flight. BFL is a great little airport.

(I did it to visit Houston and go somewhere new with a low dollar flight credit to use before expiring)
