I don't know if this is still the case, but I recall areas without security fences but merely a "moat" between the road and the concourse. It struck me as odd there was no fence but I figured I wouldn't really want to swim across any body of water in FL. That won't protect against a pole ...

The guy on the left gets mad at the other two and sticks his paddle in the water, or maybe even paddles backwards to spite them (think thrust reverser deployment)...

I was supposed to fly the NWA inaugural SEA-OOG. The day before a Chief Pilot called me and said he was taking the flight. Poor me, I got to stay home and of course got paid. I flew them for the next 3 months before moving on to the B744.

I remember when I started with NCA in 1975 NWA took the thrust reversers off the 4 engines on 742 that flew to NRT to save weight.

From a pilot aspect the ancient nose and cockpit windows that were borrow from early design B707. The cockpit wind noise is defining.

Not an engine expert, but couldn't the engines on a replacement aircraft just be motored each for 30 seconds after all of the pax deplane? mcdu was right on. Additionally radar does not pick up hail (poor reflecting material.) So always do as mcdu wrote.

Functionality. They will show dirt, grime or other things that FA's uniforms pick up during inflight service. An apron can only cover up so much.

The Main Street media is portraying the cuts are due to Trump's travel ban from selected mid-east nations, while just the opposite is true. Travelers from those countries can fly to DXB and connect on Emirates to the States. More passengers, not less.

I would think there would have been some sort of anti-skid warning. You can't brake a wheel that isn't there.

Geographical definition of Europe is the area west of the Ural mountains. So while maybe 90% of Russia is east of the Urals probably 90% of the Russian population is west of the Urals, and the vast amount of flying for Aeroflot is in the west.
