Re: Irish 3/24: If the cap doesn't fit ...

Not a good sign to be cancelling flights this soon in the summer schedule. I thought there was going to be a spare A330 with the current schedule but I know some are still in maintenence.

Re: Irish 3/24: If the cap doesn't fit ...

Would it be possible to build another temporary pier or extend the south boarding area?. Would be impractical and wont happen I know but I can see the overcrowding issue returing in summer 2025 or whenever the cap is lifted and no chance the 2 new permanent piers will be built by then.

ELAL has decided not to come back to DUB this year hopefully it will restart in the future. That's unfortunate, I was hoping they would resume it regardless of events in the region but I'm guessing there has been a huge drop in demand. EI-DAA seems to be in maintenance longer than anything else so far. Wonder with it been an older frame if it requires more work or possibly undergoing a D check ? Given its age I'd imagine it's due a D check around now. If that's the case then surely it should be painted also. I'm not sure if its v...

Are there many Irish originating passengers using the route? I would imagine it's mostly Chinese demand or Chinese citizens living in Ireland. Would be nice if another route or even increased frequency on the existing one was announced as part of the visit.

Re: Irish 12/23: What's another year!

The additional cost of a cabin case on FR is another reason to pick EI, ignoring any basic fare difference.

Also some third party sites like trip.com sometimes offer slightly cheaper EI and BA fares than the airlines own websites but this is not as common with FR.

I think they will still have a need for the A321LR fleet after the XLR arrives, and with the extra weight now on the XLR due to the tank issues etc, wouldnt the LR be slightly better optimised for the shortest transatlantic routes?
