My most exciting aircraft swap was back in 2013 flying on KLM685 from AMS to MEX, the flight was on a 747 Combi but I believe the combi plane went tech and was swap for a full pax 747 registration PH-BFN “City of Nairobi”, resulting in plenty of open seats at the back. I got an empty row for myself.

I don’t think Mexico will regain its Category 1 anytime soon, but as this route was approved before loosing the category I don’t think it’s necessary to be Category 1 for resuming a suspended route.

Yesterday was delivered N887BA Boeing 737-8 MAX to Aeromexico leased from DAE Capital, this bird was not taken up by FlyEgypt.

Flew as AM9444 from BFI to MEX.

KL will order 737 MAX to replace the NGs. Almost no possibility for an A220/320 series at all. Wont happen. They are as loyal to the 737 as WN and FR are. I live in Mexico City an I can tell that Popocatepetl Volcano apart from some plumes of gas and ashes it didn't had any "major" eruption yesterday that disrupted airport operations.

I flew with my family many times from MEX to LAS via IAH or DFW as most of the times it was cheaper than the direct flight to LAS.

And in 2013 I also flew to Milan Linate from Múnich via Dusseldorf with Air Berlin.
