British Airways Adds A350-1000 Service to Tel Aviv

Effective December 1st, BA will upgrade the red eye BA163/2 LHR-TLV-LHR from Boeing 787-8 to Airbus A350-1000 with the following schedule:

BA163 LHR 2055-0340+1 TLV D
BA162 TLV 0615-0940 LHR D

Flights loaded into reservation systems already.

During the summer BA flies a daily 77W on the afternoon BA165/4 service to TLV, during the winter an occasional sun on BA163/2 which is a mix of 772/788/789.

If you exclude the time to disembark and reboard ~300 passengers that'd leave you with about 20 minutes to clean and recater the aircraft. Right engine losing and continuing to lose oil quantity. Didn't declare an emergency, but turned around and returned to ILN.

They down gauged it even more - it's an A330-300 now IIRC. TLV-NYC has way too much capacity these days. So not surprising that LY would want to operate less seats on this route. On TLV, the 787-10 will replace the 77W frequency. Incorrect, the 78J will replace the 772 on the morning flight (UA84/5). My source at Bedek said it is going to Canada but he could be confused with the previous aircraft. 373 should be up tomorrow morning on a test flight with delivery set for Friday pending mx delays.

Installation of the sky shield system is done in house in Israel. the leased Neos 767 does not carry this system s it is not an Israeli registered commercial airliner and is a short the stop gap lease until Arkia receives its A339NEO

1487 did another air test @ TLV late this evening (very unusual to see a test flight going out after dark!). Delivery to KPSM scheduled for tomorrow morning however my source at Bedek advises the aircraft suffers from pressurization problems which might hold the delivery a bit longer than expected.

In all honestly, I just can't see them going big. The 777-200 has been parked in LOS since delivery in February not even performing a single flight for the airline, so I really can't see how on earth they are going to fly this massive aircraft let alone fill it.
