I must say, I really like the look of the A321 with the new engine option. The new engines certainly make it look more proportional! However, it's the reverse for the A320neo where the engine looks a tad too big IMO. To each their own I guess.Jump to post
Just like anything with a gloss ( shine ) coat, car, fridge, plastic bumpers, & carbon planes, it needs a primer at some point, so sooner the better. Primer is also used for paint to stick similar to how you would prime your walls before painting it in the color of your choice. Thank you, dear ...Jump to post

I like the new scheme. More contemporary. With the old scheme, the titles looked messy. 4004221,4352055 So what do/did you think of the "updated" old scheme whereby the titles are similar to those on the new scheme...e.g. the K doesn't kick through the A? Some of those are still flying ar...Jump to post
Even though I can get frustrated by the locked down software of iOS and the apple ecosystem sometimes, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. The Apple ecosystem is way ahead of Google/Android. Especially because of the iPad, where android has been unable to sell tablets that can rival the iPad. Same...Jump to post
The bowling shoe livery was one of my favorite schemes. Didn't care for the silver scheme after. The logo was subliminal, but clever. Landor's creations were fantastic back in the day. From NW to CX, JL's "cigarette" stripe and DL's "wavy" scheme. Those were the days were there w...Jump to post
How come they were not able to make west-bound YYZ-MNL nonstop last time they tried it, but they can now? Is it only due to blocking of seats?? As I've said above, they didn't have Russian overflight rights so they couldn't go polar. They wouldn't make it westbound due to strong headwinds in Winter...Jump to post
When they initially launched YYZ, it was non-stop eastbound while it was via YVR westbound. IIRC, they weren't overflying Russia back then due to "skytoll" negotiations so no polar for them. So the LHR route took a more southerly route. 33" inch pitch in the back is better than averag...Jump to post
err... it's now Korean AIr. KE changed its name from Korean Airlines to Korean Air after KE801 crashed on Nimitz Hill on approach to GUM. This is wrong, since KE streamlined its name to Korean Air in 1984. And has had that same blue livery ever since with only the titles having a slight change! Tim...Jump to post

Thing is that even 14-years old 777-200ER aircraft go to the scrapyard.
I'm most curious on the terminal, like when do they plan on finishing it?!
So much talk on BA moving in over the years, but that doesn't seem likely with them renovating their terminal, again.

You can expect the same with these new "plastic" jets 20 years from now.
Looks like zeke has 3 new destinations to fly to!Jump to post
I would bet they place the same Vantage XL seats on the A350 as they're putting into the A330 refits now. Perhaps with new finishes, though, since they'll have more time to customize some of the industrial design than they did for the A330. That'll be a nice ride for the folks up front. I would rea...Jump to post

Great for PR, but what do they in turn bring to OneWorld?

You can throw SAN into the hat as well.
PAL should consider joining an alliance to help improve connectivity within the U.S. Skyteam and Star Alliance are already saturated with Garuda and Vietnam, Singapore and Thai respectively. They can always join Oneworld, but aside from the "smaller" destinations in the Philippines, CX co...Jump to post
Is it still necessary to shut off the engines before being towed into the stand when using the remote gates? I haven't flown to LAX using the remote stand since 2012 but we had to shut off the engines prior to being towed in. I asked about this last time flying ANA out of JFK. Their answer was simply that the terminal wasn't set up for it or they'd do it. It's not the airline. The terminal needs to have accommodations for a separate security line and separate agents to handle it, and T7 at JFK just doesn't have it. May ...Jump to post

You need to keep in mind the cost to change from a 320 fleet to max has significant up front capital and training costs. Agreed.
