Re: 1h20m Int´l to Domestic AA connection in JFK possible?

I wouldn't count on it. If the flight is on time, you should be able to make it. However it's not unusual for these flights to be delayed for whatever reason. That delay will cause you to miss your connection. I searched the history on flight tracking websites and this flight is usually 30 to 15 mi...

Re: 1h20m Int´l to Domestic AA connection in JFK possible?

LAX is always a bit nightmarish, especially TBIT. SFO, the closest airport to where I live is much better and you can easily be curbside in 25-30 minutes; except for a few times I could count with the fingers of one hand. Even so, I am thinking that 80 minutes for an int'l to domestic connection at...

Re: 1h20m Int´l to Domestic AA connection in JFK possible?

I think you are cutting it too close. If your inbound flight gets delayed for whatever reason, even if just 15-20 minutes you will be cutting it too close, regardless of the class of service. And you will have to re-clear security at JFK. Now, I think that the only AA international flights arriving...

Re: 1h20m Int´l to Domestic AA connection in JFK possible?

Assuming you're on one ticket, you should be fine, because AA will rebook you to LAX if you miss a connection. The better question is why on earth wouldn't you just fly GRU-LAX nonstop?! Even GRU-DFW-LAX would make much more sense. Yes, this is a one ticket reservation, and in a way I´m kind of sec...

1h20m Int´l to Domestic AA connection in JFK possible?

I´ll be flying GRU-JFK, JFK-AUS, AUS-LAX in January. Scheduled arrival at JFK is 07:10AM and departure to AUS is 08:30. Considering I´m flying J and using a visa waiver country passport (which makes me eligible for automated passport control), how likely do you think I am to make my connection? I th...

Re: American Airlines announces service between LAX and Buenos Aires

I do not vouch for that shifting of capacity to Argentina. Not that things are looking any good economically in Brazil, but since AA anounced the expansion in Argentina, the Argentinian economy has taken a sharp turn in the down direction and the Peso has massively devalued, wrong timing.

I’ve never understood the appeal of Orlando. For Brits particularly - flying 4,000 plus miles to go to theme parks in the 35 degree heat. We have theme parks in the U.K. Agreed, they’re not as good. But there is zero culture in Orlando. My holidays as a child were in France...camping, sailing, cycl...

Lisbon deserves a special mention. At nearly 27M pax in 2017 it does have a full length taxiway, but each part on a different side of the runway. To reach the treshold of runway 21 planes must cross it.

I do not think that is an accurate statement, considering AA is the biggest US carrier in South America. AA flies to more Brazilian stations than UA or DL.

Not my words, I was questioning WA707atMSP who said that.

And then there is the 800 pound gorilla in the room that no-one has mentioned: COPA. Correct me if I am wrong, but is the IAG strategy not to have IB focus on Latin America, and EI focus on the United States and Canada? IB have now opened a series of new long-haul flights to LAX and SFO in one direction, and NRT and PVG in the other, somewhat inconsistent with this. To what extent ...
