Jump to postUA has done similar upgauges out here on the West Coast during the summer, with routes like SFO-MFR/SMF/FAT and LAX-SAN seeing 737-800s and -900s during the summer. Not completely surprised to see them doing similar upgauges on >500 mile routes from EWR as well in anticipation of the holiday rush.
