I've been looking forward to seeing JetBlue A220's at ROC. I figured it was a matter of time. I was on a B6 EMB-190 last summer and the interior seemed a bit long in the tooth. I've been on a Delta A220 and thought it was really nice.

Avelo is starting ROC-GSP on May 9. I would have expected ROC-BNA first, but we'll take it! Flights operate Sundays and Thursdays. ROC's current A2 taxiway is a replacement for the original A2 built with Runway 4-22 in 1967. Avelo seems to be doing ok at ROC. They've got the 2x weekly Monday and Friday through the end of their scheduling window on Feb. 14, and the schedule shows a third weekly flight on Wednesdays for three weeks around Christmas. F9 out of ROC on May 9, Avelo in on June 14. I wonder if they'll just switch out signage on gate A3 and the F9 ticket counter.

I'd guess a carrier wouldn't want to run two flights a week indefinitely. I wonder if a couple of weeklies to BNA, FLL or SRQ might work.

The aviation news site Ishrion Aviation is reporting that Avelo will start service at ROC, flying to RDU. We'll see if this route happens, but if so it would fill a 22-year gap in ROC's network. Midway II served ROC-RDU from about 1998 to 2001.

NK is adding nonstop ROC-MYR 4x weekly on May 5. NK will be using A1. Their own counters and 5 kiosks have already been installed, and PrimeFlight will be doing their ground handling. Counter is positioned between B6 and G4. Beginning in January you can only book a direct to Orlando from SYR on Frontier. Wondering if they will add new cities…big reduction from last winter. The pilot shortage is really hurting. That situation needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

Hoping Spirit still comes to ROC as planned this fall. I suspect that their transction with JetBlue will be held up or denied by DOJ.

Watching the press conference at ROC. Spirit will fly daily to MCO, and 4x daily to MYR...wow! ROC's first scheduled service to MYR, I think. Both destinations start June 24. This is a big increase in ROC-Orlando area service. WN is 8x weekly MCO, F9 3x weekly MCO, and G4 I think 2x weekly SFB. So, ...
